the pick can be conditional it doesn't matter

what matters is that the value is terrible for the Devils, who don't need a center that badly

I would have to assume it would be a conditional trade (ie, if the 2024 conveys to San Jose, Ottawa gets the 2025 1st unprotected, or whatever.) I know that after the Isles traded the conditional 2023 1st in the Horvat trade, the idea was that they could still move the 2024 1st at this year's deadline as long as the team receiving it agreed to it being conditional based on the prior trade.

Unlike many other proposals that have been made the last few days, this one is actually worth considering, even hard to refuse

Gotta be sure that Holtz is worth it though

I think OP is using McLeod as a salary going back the other way but he doesn't need to be involved too

Pinto for Holtz + 2nd

But Sens only do it if they are really high on Holtz because they are pretty damn high on Pinto

It would not be. For the league to approve, there would be a condition on the pick.

But it’s moot. Devils wouldn’t part with this amount to upgrade their 4C.

Well, OP is a Devils fans so... And most Pinto for Holtz ACGMs I have seen were from Devils fans.

I am personally not looking to trade Pinto for Holtz, just in this particular case, adding another 1st was appealing

Maybe, but “upgrade their 4C” was meant for McLeod since he was in the deal….so it would be upgrading McLeod to Pinto. And McLeod is the 4C.

We aren't sure they are a real Devils fan, and if they are they aren't knowledgeable, just looking for traffic on their stuff.
