While I'd love to troll the Leafs in this one, Jarkrok doesn't have negative value. He's paid fairly for what he brings. There's no reason they have to pay to move him, and I'm not sure at present time it makes sense to move him.

$2.1M for a third line winger, who puts up around 35/40 points, 15ish goals and can play every forward position? Yeah, they don't have pay to move him.

20 goals with any team if he plays the full 82, dude is a legit sniper

I'd say his value is around a 3rd but from Chicago POV not very much since he's 31.

Under normal circumstances Jarnkrok is easily worth a 3rd round pick however, when you are a cap strapped team that needs to make a move to become cap compliant and there are only and handful of teams that have the space to take him you are not dealing from a position of strength. Add to that the fact that the teams with cap space are all bottom of standings and rebuilding, they don’t have much need for a 31 year old winger. The most the Leafs can optimistically expect is to move him at not additional cost but even that may difficult at this time.

It really doesn't matter if Jarnkrok's return is a 3rd or 4th or whatever.
It's a question of the Leafs cap. Are they better running a short lineup with 2.1m Jarnkrok. or having let's say 800,000 Robertson and ensuring 1.1m Timmins is on the team. (I prefer the latter)
But Jarnkrok's 8 team no trade list is a big factor. He can easily put down eight team with cap that he can't be trade too. What other teams have the cap for him
Arizona, Ducks, San Jose, Jets, Habs, CBJ,, Flyers, Hawks Well that's eight.. He might be willing to be traded to the rising Sabres and Wings in the Atlantic conference.
Just saying even an 8 team No Trade makes an iffy trade at best.

Legit sniper? Come on, dude. He's a good player, but he's never even hit 30G. He's a solid well-rounded third-line winger with a decent scoring touch.

Jarnkrok proved to a great value last signing last season at 2.1m. But at 31, can he play to his contract for the next three years?
Even last year seemed to be his "best" season....can it continue? I'm sure any GM isn't sure, hence no trade.

That why he's only hit 20 goals in a season once, and it was the year he got to spend time on Matthews line because Bunting was in the dog house with Leafs coaching and busted down to the 4th line?

Yeah, that checks out......

Leafs are cap compliant I doubt they move him but I really hope they do but they aren’t doing it for less than a 3rd

A 3rd, but with the right leverage you might get him for a 4th. Leaf fans claim they are cap compliant, but that's with a 20 man roster which no GM is starting the season with.

Yes, I "liked" your original comment. And I agree with you. Just filling out the "wackiness" of a potential trade.

Trade values are not black and white, and there are more factors that contribute to that value than just the player themself. The only way he ends up in CHI is if Treliving approaches Davidson in desperation and says "hey. I'll pay you to take this contract so that we can get cap compliant." Because CHI has too many forwards as it is, and most of our odd men out are not waiver exempt. Why does CHI pay for a player they don't need and would likely cause them to have to waive a player that they don't want to waive? Just for the privilege of helping TOR with their cap issues? I don't think so. I definitely don't see CHI being able to flip him for more than a 3rd down the road. So, there is no "profit" to be made. Doesn't make sense for CHI.

But, sure, if you find a team that wants/needs him, a 3rd or 4th seems like a reasonable price for him at "fair market value".

For like a week. There's no way they do that for the season. If Muzzin hadn't got injured they would have made a trade.

So if a player scores 5 goals and they all come off of “strong wristers or one timers” does that make him a sniper?
