I have only watched parts of Flames games so far; is Markstrom turning into John Gibson 2.0 or is he (and Vladar) getting left out to dry too much?

Lindholm aint that guy hes good but hes more of a 2C. Like imagine if their C core was

1C = Superstar, 2C = Lindholm, 3c = Kadri, 4C = Backlund

He needs to slot behind someone

Issue is there isnt one out there

No one is paying Kadri 7m to be a 3rd liner

When you got good depth 7m 3c is a luxary

Were already seeing it with 3-4m 4th line centers

VGK is deep enough to where they can have Roy at 3c making 3m

Heck Buffalo might be the first team to have 3 C's in the 7m range

If they are forced to look to make a deal, they’re extremely fortunate to have a mid aged 2-way center on the block right as the cap is expected to go up. There should be no shortage of interested trade partners.

They should be able to get an absolute monster return.

But the season is early, they have a new coach, and they have good players. I can see this playing out a wide variety of ways.

Bobby Brink for Calder.

Brink 4 points in 6 games. Bedard 4 points in 7 games.

No but, Brink has been very good, and could easily have more points. His line (Farabee-Cates-Brink) has been our most effective in zone time, and creating chances. Brink has been noticable every shift in a good way.

He's proving a lot of doubters of his size and skating wrong. His college success was no fluke.

Some other standouts:

Couts looks like the Couturier of the old. No change he didn't forget how to play hockey.

Konecny is right where he left off.

Sanheim is a MONSTER, he's looked very good this year. 8 Points in 7 games, and he;s finally putting his skating, hockey sense together at the same time.

Its funny how I was right about Philly so far

May still be early and they may slip and fall but had a feeling Coutourier coming back would help

As you look at the projected forward core and goaltending it looked too good to be as bad as people suggested

He's got a good statline, but he's also had like 3/4 games where he was invisible or bad.

IF he keeps scoring, that would be great. Turn him into some sort of value. Otherwise, Philly should buy him out next year. He's blocking kids.
