SJS don’t really have a cap problem as much as a talent problem I believe. No point in trading future potential talent to clear cap. Doesn’t make any sense. Can’t see Swayman going for that cheap, would be beat by plenty of teams. Buf maybe but their management is goofy with goalies and like UPL.

You mention Chicago to get a goalie prospect but why? They have Soderblom, Commesso, and Gajan. Soderblom is looking really good and Commesso is playing his first pro year and highly touted, and Gajan was the first goalie selected in last year's draft.

The D-core prospects are already in place. Vlasic, Korchinski, Kaiser, Del Mastro, Allan, Phillips, and Rinzel.

You are kidding right?

30 cents on the dollar.

Boston laughs at that.

Hawks 2nd in 24 and good prospect would be the minimum. And the lack of any desire to move him means you’d have to make an offer they could not refuse. What i just suggested as minimum does not blow them away.

As much as I'd like to move Vlasic to make room for developing prospects, the price is way too high. San Jose needs all the draft picks it can get. No thanks.

San Jose and Boston both say no. And the Hawks probably do too. Hawks don't need UPL. That Buffalo trade doesn't get made either. As for the D next season, all the Hawks need is a 3rd pair RD and a 7th D. The rest of the blue line is covered. And pass on most of those UFA signings as well. I am on board with drafting Eiserman though!!

Don’t worry. Hawks fans on here will say no to it too.

Why would a rebuilding team with no high end players to sign even NEED to dump a contract that they could easily ride out/buy out/bury.

What awful asset management that would be. Hell, I'd rather have Vlasics contract than Jones'. At least with Vlasic his contract will be expiring around the time they're competitive again, meanwhile you'll have a 32+ year old Jones at 9.5 mil for 3 more years by the time the Hawks are competitive again.

Exactly because they have soderblom who's playing well on the hawks, Commesso getting time in Rockford and they just drafted gajan this past draft. They have no need for a goalie.

Fair enough, operating under the assumption that Boston cant truly afford Swayman, and Swayman doesn't want to be a backup behind Ullmark

Just want to say that I'm not an expert on the Hawks depth prospects I just like to make interesting hypotheticals, but I see Swayman as someone who could develop into a good starter, whereas to be a cup contender I'd rather have a bona fide elite goalie, which isn't easy to find, and is the hardest position to fill so if they end up having 2 great goalies that's an excellent problem to have

B’s have a ton of cap space next year. Paying him won’t be a problem. Ullmark will likely be moved before the start of next season.

Last 3 seasons

Ullmark 90 starts

Swayman 75.

Even split this year.

They don’t have a backup. They have co #1s. And neither have a problem with it.

Theses trades are bad like everyone has already said. What I like bc a lot tho is signing montour, he’s probably be more expensive than what you signed him for but I think the hawks should ge all over him this off-season

Expect for Buffalo

What baffles me is that you’re offering more for a ****ty spot starter then a really good backup who doesn’t get a chance due to who’s in front of him
