Sean Monahan

Created by: Joblow
Team: 2023-24 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Nov. 8, 2023
Published: Nov. 8, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I will try to make it simple for all the +*****^ that donlt understand the principle of supply and demand.

Monahan is a proven player, top 30 centerman in the league when healthy. He is on a bargain deal that will allow any team to fit is contract in at some point this year.
Monahan is a bonified second line center that can play wing, pp, pk, any given defensive situation.
Mtl already have plenty of draft pick and also a deep prospect pool so they aren’t interested in only pick. If they move Monahan, the asking price will be a high end prospect +. So a late first round pick won’t cut it, they will target strategic player.

HERE FOR ALL THE HATER, BECAUSE YOU THINK IT TO MUCH TO PAID DOESN’T MEAN THAT THIS AIN’T THE VALUE THAT ONE OF THE GM WILL GAVE UP( happen every year and you can complain all day long if a trade involving Monahan have to happen this is what type of return to expect coming to MTL
Trades
1.
MTL
  1. Lysell, Fabian
  2. 2025 1st round pick (BOS)

  2. Rosén, Isak
  3. 2024 2nd round pick (BUF)

As much as Sean Monahan would be a good fit in Boston for Lysol (my nickname for Lysell) and a 1st seems a bit pricey maybe a 3rd team could be involved so Boston could get Monahan

Sabres would have ZERO interest- NONE whatsoever
We are loaded at Center/Forward
Plus, u really are asking too much

Monahan isn’t as good as u think he is
And u can’t even decide how good he is
Is he a “top 30 center when healthy” or is he a “bonified 2nd line center” ??

Either way, you’re expecting too much of a return in general,
and the Sabres are 100% NOT INTERESTED

Bruins laugh and hang up. Not that Monahan has been playing poorly for MTL, but that is way too much for him considering sample size and health concerns

When his shooting % regresses to around the 10% he’s shot the last 3 years he won’t be worth any of this

Standing in front of the net getting 5 minutes of PP time a night doing nothing has canadiens fans convinced he's mcdavid or something

He has 1 5 on 5 goal so far. The 2 shortys is nice but not really sustainable.

I mean if you look at the Sabres, they have offensive centers, Monahan doesn't really bring anything that the Sabres don't already have. Can't imagine adams paying any kind of premium to add an offensive only center.

One of them was one of the most colossal ****ups I've seen by a goalie in a while. The numbers look nice until you watch him and realize he's really not doing much

So lets me understand this you think Monahan is worth Holtz??? Did you not see that Fitzy wasnt giving The Sharks Holtz for Meier. Lower your expectation. Devils are happy with Holtz.

Speaking of supply, the Bruins severely lack a supply of young forward talent and picks. They have a questionable center situation, but I don't think 1 year of Sean Monahan fixes that. The Bruins are retooling, and this move would be a win-now move that would run counter to that.

I'm a Monahan fanboy, but this is just greedy.

MTL could catch a low 1st from a motivated contender (if he's healthy), but this is just silly.

Any team that will inquired for him will already have that 1st line top centerman. If it’s not the case then you aren’t a playoff contender. You can be a bonified second line center and also be a top 30 centerman. Malkin is a good example.
And i don’t expect anything. This is what Hugues will be looking for. Now again, i understand people complain about the value but the value is fixed by Hugues and if someone want to acquire him that will be the cost.

No way this mfer trying to compare Sean Monahan to Malkin. Any team worth it's salt as a contender has 2 Centers better, and a 3rd in the same tier/better

1- The Sabres are ALREADY SET at Cener with Thompson, Cozens & Mittelstadt- we don’t need or want Monahan to begin win

2- if he really is a top30 Center (he’s not btw), then there’s no need to say he’s a bonified 2nd line Center- it’s redundant

3- the Sabres don’t care at all about the supposed price being set by Hughes for Monahan, bc AGAIN, we are ABSOLUTELY NOT interested in acquiring him in the slightest
