Ottawa won't give up Chabot for a guy who could walk next season.

Personally I think that's a fair trade for Tanev. He's 34, pending FA, injury prone due to his style and doesn't provide much offense. I know flames fan expect 1st round plus I just think they are way over valuing both of their free agent dmen.

I know you have 3.. I didn't include Hanafin because to my knowledge he hasn't been mentioned near as often in trade rumors as Tanev and Zadorov. All the power to you if you think you'll be sitting on 4 first round picks next year but I don't see it happening.

Chabot is already 26, "might turn" sounds weird for a veteran

They are kinda similar and about the same level, definitely in the same tier, around top-25/30 D-men

Chabot only makes 500 000$ more but the thing he has is that he is 3 years younger and his contract doesn't expire at 35 y/o like Rielly

Really? Minten (our top C/F prospect ready to play next year) in a trade for for a mid 30 year old D man that at best a 2nd pair guy? Give us Coronato for Brodie. Sounds pretty crazy. You get Lily, a 1st and a decent prospect like McMann or Abbruzzese

Believe me you don't have a clue what Tanev (or Zadorov) is worth or what the Flames want in return for either player.

McMann is a 27 year old Pending UFA & Abruzzese is a 24 year old Pending Group-6 UFA... I like and would take both, simply because of their Alberta & Coronato connections, but neither has any real Trade Value, other than being offered as Sweeteners

I see, might be a better idea than Robertson who has been injured often but Nick Robertson has top-6 talent and is still just 22, will probably be a top-6 forward if he stays healthy

Problem is it becomes too much if it becomes Minten, Liljegren seems to be quite underrated...

I have no say in this and actually should naturally be more against the Leafs as they are Ottawa's direct rival, and by the way, I was a HUGE Kiprusoff fan, but not sure I'd like to give up all that as a Leaf fan

Liljegren is overrated and not the defensemen he was expected or projected to be. Only reason he gets Top-4 minutes in TOR is because they only have 1 good defensemen now in Reilly... TOR didn't really want to use him in the Playoffs either, he's not Trustworthy or Reliable enough

Robertson wouldn't make the roster over Mangiapane, Coleman, Sharangovich, Dube, Ruzicka, Pospisil, Greer, Duehr, Coronato, Pelletier, Zary, Klapka or come next season Honzek. As you can see, another Winger is the last thing we need, especially a Small, Inconsistent one like Robertson

Looks like I have a better understanding of what your dmen are worth then you do. A 3rd and a 5th for Zadorov to a division rival no less.
