The Kings have better goaltending than Buffalo, they don't need your guys.

you would need to retain or take salary back from Tampa to make the trade work

Kings decline that. No point in bringing in a goaltender playing just as bad as our back up and both our tenders in the AHL are playing far better than Comrie so the trade doesnt do anything for the Kings.

That is an overt trash offer for Buch, especially coming from a team with good prospects falling out of their ears. Jost is garbage and that prospect is weak as hell.

Maybe if the Sabers retained 50% a team would be interested in him but definitely not at 1.8m cap. A team might be interested in him at 50% retained to send him down to the minors and hope he rebounds but otherwise no one will take a shot with him even as a third unless hes 50% retained.

Buch is making 5.8m for 2 more years, is great defensively, and has put up over a PPG since his time in STL. Will definitely cost more than a meh first round pick, a negative asset (Jost) and an unknown prospect.

Nobody is giving up a 2nd for Olofsson, and especially not the Canes.

Does he need to be? He's Buch, and he's worth well more than that offer. Obviously.

They won't. Its the worst kept secret that ownership no longer retains salary or eats bad deals. There's a reason why in a year where the goal was the playoffs, the sabres were like the 3rd lowest spending team. Thats not an accident.

No shot for Buch this season. I’d venture to guess that’s under what he’d get next deadline at 50% retained.

Doesn’t need to be Kucherov to get a return up to or with Horvats. Especially given the two runs you’re asking for.

No need to take back any salary because they won't be moving Joker for a 3rd. He's worth more to them than that.

It'll take a 1st round pick or a good prospect to get Tanev. Buffalo has a lot of good prospects, more than they'll be able to keep in the long run too.

He is a PPG winger who is good defensively and is on a good contract. Jost sucks, the prospects is C tier, and the first is only good if it stays in the top 10. If it drops out if makes it significantly less appealing

Benson was picked at 12. It’s not like any pick outside the top 10 is worth nothing. That said if Buffalo sent Benson instead of the first round pick, you’d be all over it. Don’t pretend you wouldn’t do backflips if that were the offer.

Yep, for proper cap management in the future. They have a lot of players coming up that will need new contracts: Mitts, Krebs, UPL, Levi, JJP, Quinn....

If you use this website and sign those players to contracts in the coming years, it's pretty easy to see that while there is cap space this year, BUF is going to need to manage the cap wisely in the coming years.

To assert that a franchise that has given huge contracts to Eichel, Skinner, Dahlin, Power, Tage, Cozens and Samuelsson is frugal is plainly ridiculous.

Are the coyotes flush with cash? I mean they gave keller all that money so they must be rich? Please just block me, we've never had an interaction that hasn't given me an ulcer.

Who is talking about the Coyotes? And feel free to block me if you can't handle some comments that don't align with your views. I have nothing personal against you and no reason to block you. You do you.

It's called a comparable. The coyotes are notoriously cheap, and still manage to give out long term money. The Sabres have done the same. They dont retain salary and they are no longer in a position to be prime candidates for top end ufa's or trade targets with big contracts. If you want to believe thats because of their own guys thats fine. But its worth noting that theyve also made a huge point to avoid giving out much in terms of signing bonuses, unlike bigger market teams that actually have the cash.
