Reichel is struggling this season sure, but he is also 21 and barely played at all in the NHL, he looked great during his short stint last year. Give the kid some time. I would imagine kings fans feel the same way, but there is a lot more pressure for them to succeed now so I could see them making a move.

Your joking right? There isn't the slightest chance Kyle from Chicago considers this for even one second. It is WAY TOO SOON to sell low on Reichel. And Turcotte just suffered another concussion anyway.

People are forgetting that Reichel bulked up a bunch this summer and those big changes in stature in a single offseason can be difficult for young players to adjust too. IIRC this happened recently with another young player (Rossi maybe?)

Edit: and since I mentioned Rossi:

at age 21: 19 GP 0-1-1
this season at age 22: 26 GP 9-7-16

Turcotte looked absolutely fantastic this year before he took an elbow to the head for his 4th concussion. Not sure how a "change of scenery" helps with that.

Holy knee-jerk overreaction! Let the kid develop. He's getting thrown into new situations and asked to play a different style than he's used to. The Hawks can afford to be patient with his development.

This is ridiculous. I might send Guttman for Turcotte, but not Reichel. Reichel is a very high end prospect, this is no time to be giving up on him. You are suffering from a disease called "bowman-used-to-be-our-GM-itis", but, with plenty of patience it can be cured. Don't let the intrusive thoughts win. Reichel doesn't even have to figure it out this season, honestly. Crazier things have happened. Some guys just need time, or they need to be playing with the right players that think the game the way they do. Personally, I think he put on decent amount of weight and completely changed his diet over the summer and his mind and body need to catch up and get in sync. He'll be fine.
