It is unlikely Hawks give up a second for Robertson. He has been injury prone & unimpressive since being drafted. Hawks gave plenty of their own prospects waiting in the wings.

You can't seriously think that Chicago is going to give you a 2024 second for Nicholas Robertson, never mind the additional fourth.

Yzerman laughs hysterically not a chance he's retaining 2 additional years on Chiarot takes on a cap dump and an injury prone 6-8 defenseman.
Chicago has been well covered above .
A definite maybe from Calgary.

Gotta agree here.

Although I am.one that thinks Ribertson has the talent, there remains too many hangs ups for him.to have tangible value.

1. Not nearly enough road behind him from the LTIR and being healthy. This only starts to change if he finishes this season on the ice and not in the press box. I would further suggest that it would take a healthy 2024-25 campaign to convince most he is beyond that.

2. His minutes are ridiculously sheltered. Although he has made the most of them, I would not be moving a 2nd round pick for a winger getting less than 11 minutes a night.

3. Worse is all those shelter minutes are at ES. Any team willing to move a 2nd would want a PP and/or PK sample size to see what else he could add to the organization.

As it sits right now, Robertson's value in the market remains too low to bother thinking about moving him.... and Keefe's deployment of him isn't helping matters.

A Leaf fan's perspective.

Chiarot sucks, he's worthless and has term. I wouldn't give anything to get him. This isn't 2020, everyone knows by now, he's not good bn

If it's not yet clear that Yzerman isn't a good GM, then you just don't pay attention

I guess missing the playoffs again while handing out term to the likes of Chiarot and Holl is progress.

TOR fans should maybe realize that 1000 different mock trades involving Robertson says something about how desirable Robertson is as a prospect.

Straight up, you might be able to wrangle a 4th round pick for him, and even that would depend on finding a foolish buyer.

Marleau, Nick Ritchie, Petr Mrazek, Matt Murray lol...The Leafs have had to give up some valuable assets to dump those contracts. The Red Wings have a good amount of Cap flexibility so Chiarot & Holl contracts doesn't hurt us. By "progress" I mean that the Red Wings have moved up in the standings every season, PK/PP better, +/- better. And this is not even close to a finished product yet. A bunch of our Top prospects are still developing.

And Yzerman is going to 100% sign more old vets and handcuff you. Like he did in Tampa.

This roster is a good team?
https://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/leagues/seasons/teams/0000342019.html

They finished 14th in the conference, by the way. Notable prospects at the time were Filip Hronek, Dennis Cholowski, and FIlip Zadina. Lots of blue chips there.
If you don't know what you're talking about, you probably shouldn't say anything. Also, if Chiarot sucks, he'd fit right in on Toronto's blueline.

Tyler Johnson, McDonaugh and I don't think Killorn was worth his cap hit either.

I was referring to him in Tampa. In Detroit, he'll show his real worth. He's not a great GM and it'll take a few more years of mediocrity before you realize it.

You mean the Tampa Bay squad that also finished 14th in the conference, and whose notable players were pretty much just a young Stamkos, Hedman, and a 34 year old St. Louis? Quite a winner he inherited there.
Look at the cup winning rosters, and you might actually notice something. All the notable pieces, minus Coleman and Goodrow, all Yzerman draft picks and trades. Drouin a bust? Got Sergachev for him. McDonagh, a pretty big piece of their defense (who they're very much missing, by the way), gotten for the Nils Lundqvist draft pick and not much else. Cernak? Got him from Philly for Ben Bishop. Vasi, Kucherov, Cirelli, Point, all Yzerman draft picks.

But you're right, he's totally mid. No success at all in building anything. Come on man, you can literally look all this stuff up easily. Ignorance like this is no excuse.

He inherited a team that had just picked first second and were picking six not a good team.
Best move Yzerman made as TB GM Hiring Al Murray.

I'll see what, exactly? You made a ridiculous assessment that was disproven by a basic google search. Then you tried to backpedal and made another ridiculous assessment, which was also disproven by a basic google search. Do you have any actual evidence to submit, or are you going to continue making stuff up?

He signed Chairot to more than 5 million, Holl for 3. Perron for term. Etc etc. Yzerman does this and has a history of it. He loves his old vets and he will pay them more than he should. He's already doing it in Detroit but he didn't hit the lottery with a goalie and a 2nd round pick like Kucherov yet. You'll see, he's overrated. He's going to spin his wheels for years. And then you'll get mad because it's been 5-6 years of Yzerman and no real progress has been made.

Chiarot makes 4.75M. Perron was signed for 2 years. Batting 1/3 on basic searches on CapFriendly already.
While in Tampa, 3 playoff misses, 3 Conference Final Loses, and a Cup final loss. Swap 2 3rd liners, and that teams wins back to back cups and lost in the Cup finals. Not bad results, considering where they started.
In Detroit, he took over a team that was spiraling into last place, had no notable prospects, and only 2 and a half good players. In 4 years, with 1 pick in the top 5, has a high end prospect pool, and is generally on the upswing. In case you didn't know, building a team from scratch doesn't yield a cup contender that quickly. By the time the Wings' best prospects are established, Chiarot and Holl will be gone, Copp and Compher will be either gone or in the last year. This team has 7 roster spots filled for more than 2 years. But please, go on about all the boat anchor contracts the Wings totally have that are blocking prospects. Edvinsson is on the only arguable case, but he's 20 and the NHL may not be the best place for his development right now.
