Habs werent gonna give up Dach when the Jets were asking, you think his value has gone up?

LA isn't going to give up on the PLD experiment. It would cost Blake his job.

Like it or not, he's stuck in LA for at least another full season after this one.

Pens decline. I think it’s gonna take more than a 1st and borderline bust territory prospect to get Jake

I think Pittsburgh gets an offer that better suits their needs than Turcotte and a 1st, Guentzel is basically the only forward playing at a top-line level who is realistically available at the deadline.

Montreal declines easily, they weren't even willing to entertain trading Dach for him before, they certainly aren't going to do so now given how poorly PLD's performed, even with Dach's injury.

Dude Montreal wouldn't pay Dach to Winnipeg when PLD was seen as a 60+ point player, now that he has been struggling, isn't even on a 40 point pace and his contract is looking really bad. His value isn't suddenly going to go up to where he is worth Dach, a Young Defensemen, and an ok goalie.

It's sad to see a guy like PLD with all the skill and size playing this way...

The habs may be interested for a bargain at this point... but not much more. Like buying a new drill or new tools at home depots - only when it's 50% off.

The guy snobbed us in some way.

The big difference with PLD's production is that he's been a disaster on the PP in LA with just 5 goals for and 4 SH against.
Only a single point for himself (1 goal) in 100 minutes. Not even a secondary assist.
He should be good for another 10 points there which would be enough to have him back on pace for around 60 points.

I'm still not giving up the younger and cheaper Dach for him. Not even 1-for-1.

Call me crazy but drop Harris and I may of considered it… if it wasn’t for the fact that PLD makes 2 and half times as much as Dach. Hear me out, I’m worried and I doubt I’m alone that Dach may never actually play a full season which may balance out with PLD’s downplay/attitude issues but that contract man…

I don’t honestly think he snobbed the Habs. I have this vibe(with no actual prove to back it up) that Hugo was willing to deal with Winnipeg but unwilling to offer PLD more money than Suzy so PLD did what so many have done before and followed the money.

I agree ... and careers are short I get it (also - going to LA sounds nice after spending all his career in CLB and Winterpeg).

It's mostly the "I want to play for th habs" trop that got me salty.

And I think he was being honest when he said that until he was told the Habs weren’t willing to make him the highest paid player on the team.

yeah especially if PIT retains 50% on Jake I would expect to see one of the bigger packages we've seen at the TDL for a rental in recent years... the list of elite goal scorers or defenseman equivalents that have been moved is very very short...
