He's saying this trade doesn't do anything for Calgary and he's right. The Leafs are the top heavy team with no D or goaltending. Why would Calgary trade a top pairing RD in a package for a player who isn't going to stay with the team?

To me if you’re resigning Brodie and not Benoit, you haven’t watched a game this year. Benoit is cheaper and much more valuable than Brodie(who is on the steady decline). Pay Benoit 1.5M and pocket 2+M. This team is tougher to play against.

To think that you could actually move a waste of a pair of skates like Reaves and get anything at all is mind blowing. He used to be an effective enforcer but he has now just become a distraction and side show. The guy hurt himself skating into the boards. Wait until the end of the season and buy him out. If not be prepared to offer something of value not a no name prospect and/or late round draft picks.
