McG is probably the most untouchable we have. Future captain and an absolute beauty in the locker room.
Jets have zero use for Monahan, he’s bad defensively and 5v5. He’s good on faceoffs and would be playing 4th line. He isn’t worth giving up any significant assets for.

I get that he’s doing well on the PP, but he most likely won’t be on the PP. besides with that trade we would still be over cap.

Mattheson deal I think the value is fair, but the landing spot isn’t. I think Dallas is a more suitable partner.

An offensive dman from one of the worst defenses in the NHL isn’t what the Blues need, nor is he worth a 1st and 2nd. Just trying to bring you back to reality.

Maybe last year you could’ve gotten a first but he’s come back down to earth

But regardless of price why would the blues even do this

They already have 2 long term old overpaid LHDs why would they give up a first to get another one?

Blues have no need for Matheson really. We are not even close to competing for a cup. Our forward core is 1 line deep and our prospects will take 2-3 years to develop. By that time Matheson will be 32 and his contract nearly up. Makes no sense for us

Matheson is only offense he at least gives up a few great chances a game (but he creates enough to warrant a trade). Lets move him now when his value is at a max, and create room for Hutson/Reinbacher/Mailoux to take over the powerplay qb duties

He aint all offence when he's playing in every situation including top PP and top PK while pushing the play in the right direction. He's 29 and signed to a cheap deal til 32, they cant trade everyone and let the kids take over whom none are guarantees outside Guhle! He wants to play in Montreal and is a local guy yet you want to trade away a guy that is passionate about the team because of the mystery box?

Teams like STL are trying to blow up their defence cause they are all overpaid and none fit in any situation. Matheson is a solution not a problem.

So you want an offensive D man and PP QB on pace for 60 points on one of the worst PP in the league for next to nothing?! If you want Matheson, it's gonna hurt to aquire him.
