That is an insane overpay for Monahan, even with the retention. Not only no but hell no.

Monahan probably gets a 1st round pick at most (with retention).

Dallas need RHD not LHD.

Oilers don't have cap space for Allen.

It's gonna be hard to trade Pearson without retaining anything (which you used on Monahan).

Why trade Evans for a return that might not even net an NHL player?

id like to keep evans. Dallas probably says no because Stankoven is a non starter.

For the Avs trade, even if Colorado fans don’t like it I would say remove Olausson and replace him by Beaucage. Then it would be fair. Remember what y’all paid for lehky before saying Monahan isn’t worth a 1st+

Yeah, not even remotely the same. Monahan is a pending UFA, Lehky was a pending RFA. Lehky is a solid 200 ft player that is years younger than Monahan and fits the Avs style a lot better than Monahan does.

Monahan isn't worth a first... cgy spent a 1st to get rid of him.. Colorado got johansen for nothing at 50%.

Monahan is closer to johansens value not lekhonens

Avs and Dallas decline, with prejudice. Rest of it looks reasonable however.

Why do Habs fans think every one of their players on the trade block is worth a first?

A delusional hope is better than admitting that reality would slap them silly. That’s my best guess.
