I believe the rumors were that Colorado wanted Philadelphia to add more in a Cutter/Byram swap. Monahan is decent, has very limited 5v5 stats and is heavily dependent on the PowerPlay to pick up points. COL almost exclusively runs their top-unit which Monahan surely will not place. Harris is fine but with an already crowded defense corp, doesn't really move the needle for COL. The 2nds are pretty useless to a contending team. Would imagine if COL is trading Byram, its for a dynamic forward who has term and is entering their prime, not leaving.

That's totally fair. I added an extension for Monahan here. But I can totally get why Colorado doesn't do this.

No. The Avs still value Byram as much as ever. They won't move him unless the return is too good to pass up.

The only way I see the Avs considering moving Byram is if they get a legitimate, young 2C

Firstly I will point out that MTL really doesn't need to add at LD, and Byram is average at best on the right. That said, there is also no way the Avs even entertain the thought of that trade. It gives them nothing they want.

The Avs fan on the other post that gave you the idea has been drinking meths, sniffing glue and snorting coke all at the same time.

Theres nothing in the deal the habs want.

Byrams a decent but nothing special LD with a worrying concussion history.

If the habs are moving multiple 1sts worth of value they can do better than byram

Mtl will have 7 LHD next year

Mathesson, Ghule*, Struble, Xhekaj***, Harris, Hutson**, Engstrom

If mtl get Byram they will probably trade him to someone else and get more value

Defensemans is the last thing that Montreal need right now.

They already have Hutson, Reinbacher and Guhle, and somes prospects like Mailloux, Struble and Engstrom.

Pour it down your throat if you're brave enough.

Edit: I'm not actually saying to do it by the way, I DO NOT want to be responsible for you making yourself brain dead or fully dead.

Dang that kinda hurts my feelings that someone would say to kill my self over a trade post

Nope, only thing to kill on here sometimes is your pipe dreams and crazy ideas by leaving them on display for all and sundry to rip apart like a pack of rabid dogs lol.

I was thinking the same. If Monahan had an extension in place, I would remove the 2 picks. But it could work also.

Replace the 1sts with 2nds (or at least 1 of the 2nds with a 1st) and it’s probably in the ballpark at least value wise

At this point I would say ghule is better and is younger.
