In my opinion, the first trade makes sense.
EDM has no interest in having Eberle back on their roster.

Hawks easily decline. Hall is out for the year, so he's not getting moved. And Campbell takes both of those 1st's to dump, and Hawks aren't trading Murphy for Foegele and Cici.

Hall is out all year so trade makes no sense, but I don't think the hawks are getting enough back for taking on campbell here

I know every fan overrates their players but come on now lmao. Hawks aren't trading Murphy for Foegele and Ceci is too much? Foegele is a capable top 6 guy who can play well anywhere in a lineup and Ceci is a fringe top 4 dman. How on earth is Murphy even close to that value, let alone that 4.4M of his being a bad contract lol

Foegele is a pending UFA. He has no value in a trade to the Hawks. If he had term still, then sure, different story. And the Hawks keep Murphy over Ceci hands down.

They could still flip Foegele at the same deadline for a 2nd easily. If not, he'd be a great winger for Bedard because he's a dogg, he'll do the dirty work for him. And the hawks would also accept a Ceci for Murphy trade in a heartbeat. Both players are pretty much the same but Ceci has a year less on his deal, cheaper, and doesn't have an NMC like Murphy does.

Hawks don't care if Murphy's cap hit is a million more than Ceci. Hawks have plenty of cap space. That reason doesn't hold up. Same w/ the extra year of term. Hawks don't swap these two in a heartbeat. Hawks would only consider trading Murphy if it brings back futures that help move the rebuild forward. Ceci and Foegele aren't that. If you can't see that this swap does nothing to help the Hawks, I don't know what else to tell you.

Every time someone's trade is declined, "What do you mean you say no? I am sending you awesome players, and all I want is your trash player with a bad contract." Then why are you trading for that player?

If you think Foegele can get a 2nd, then trade him and send the 2nd to the Hawks. Because they'd rather have the 2nd than a UFA that maybe they can trade at the deadline.

You are trying to justify Ceci for Murphy to the Hawks because of term, money, and NMC? The Hawks have plenty of cap space. Murphy has been a veteran leader in the locker room and on the ice. They have no immediate pipeline of RD. So yeah, an extra year for Murphy is a positive from Hawks perspective.
