Team: 2024-25 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 12, 2024
Published: Feb. 12, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Tanev, Joshua, and Duclair all add size and grit. Dcore much better and established goaltending duo. Woll's injury history worries me hence he's not on the starting roster.

why?

- Positional value of an elite RD is way higher than an elite RW
- Seider is way younger and has team control
- Seider will cost noticeably less on his next deal while having a similar game impact
- Detroit's need for Seider vastly outweighs their need for Marner (Raymond and DeBrincat are both 1st line caliber wingers already)

That is an excellent response.

I think Chicago is more than comfortable rolling with the RD they currently have. Both Murphy and Jones are signed with term and they're content rolling with Crevier or shifting one of their LD over to the right side on the 3rd pairing. No need to waste draft capital on someone who doesn't fit their long term plans.

Red Wings decline. Horrific trade for them. 23 y/o 1D on his ELC>>>> 26 y/o LW1 with 2 years until UFA status.

Marner declines. Why would he waive to move from his hometown team? He wouldn't.

Hawks decline. Timmins isn't worth a 4th. And the Wings aren't trading Seider.

Detroit has zero interest in a Marner for Seider swap, We need highend talent on the D like Seider.
