The Direction We Need to Go

Created by: iAce
Team: 2023-24 Minnesota Wild
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 16, 2024
Published: Mar. 16, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Draft values may be off, but I would like the team to go in a different direction than we currently are heading. This will be aggressive trades and relying on the pipeline we have in place.

I like Spurgeon and retained even more but no way Leafs are moving Knies imo and absolutely no way they’re given up 2024 1st too

I find it hard to believe San Jose would pass on a local kid, going #1 overall, with multiple ties already to franchise.

San Jose will never trade that pick BUT depending on what those picks are I guess it’s not the worst offer

Knies is hardly ruthless, and he' not that big. But he's a solid NHLer who likely gets quite a lot better.
Even at 4m, the Leafs pass on Spurgeon.

Saying Celebrini may have a higher ceiling than Rossi is pretty amusing. He's not even drafted yet and probably already a better player than Rossi. Zero chance Sharks consider that.

Moving on from Spurgeon definitely has some logic to it and Toronto is a pretty logical fit but there is no chance they would move Knies to get him. Also adding more dead cap seems extremely foolish

The Sharks won’t trade the Celebrini pick if they get it unless the offer is truly outrageous. Add Faber or Wallstedt and sub Rossi for Eriksson-Ek.

SJ not trading #1 for 2 picks in the 20's plus a player. nothing in NHL history indicates a deal like this would happen. It would have to be a 1 top 5 pick plus one 1 top 15 pick plus a players to even consider
