I don't think CGY makes playoffs next year, but I think they give more space for the young guys to grow and fill the cupboards with some decent picks (pick 6, 12, and 14 in the draft)

You could add Calgary's own 1st to that trade up attempt and it still wouldn't work. Adding it and the one you're somehow poaching from NJD (pro tip: if a goaltender costs them both Holtz and the 1st, it ain't gonna happen - let alone all the other adds) might merit brief consideration, but since we have a ton of prospect depth already and so don't really need More Guys it's not very likely.

You can't seriously believe that that offer gets you a 23-year-old #1C, can you?

You got a first, a roster player and some window dressing for rental Elias Lindholm, and this offer doesn't approach that. (It's utterly hilarious that you included a LhD waiver pickup in that package.)

As breathtakingly horrible as that idea is, the Columbus trade is even worse. The earliest that the Vancouver pick can be is #25. To move from there to #4 (almost certainly the slot where the Blue Jackets will be, without movement due to lottery wins), you'd have to add the 10th overall pick, not a second and a monkey point.
