Canes obviously decline. Why wouldn't they just beat the Walker offer and keep Necas?

Hawks pass. They don't need a goalie.

I was the biggest Dube fan, but he'll never skate in an NHL game again nor should any of his 4 co-defendants!

Vladar 3.62 0.882

Soderblom 4.01 0.876

Not a 3rd round pick's worth of difference there. I'd rather keep the younger, cheaper guy and the pick. Chicago isn't winning anything next year so why waste a pick on a 1 year rental of an almost equally crappy goalie as our backup?

So the trial is over and they were found guilty?

No of course not but those accusations are horrific and they'll need to do a lot more than just be proven legally innocent to play in the league again

That's true. I just hate that people aren't given due process in the court of public opinion. Trevor Bauer is going through that right now in the MLB. Once the story gets out and people make their judgments, it's pretty much lights out.

These are all brutal trades for the Flames, except the Vladar Trade

Any team retaining anything on Huberdeau, let alone 50% of his Cap Hit, is quite simply unrealistic

I get the hesitancy by some to want to open their leagues to people with accusations like Bauer and the five have had but there also needs to be a bigger weight placed on being legally exonerated

Holtz for Markstrom, with retention, was agreed to by Calgary GM…not sure why the price would go up over summer…especially since Markstrom declined trades elsewhere (and approved trade to New Jersey).

If they are proven legally innocent, there will be no way to keep them from playing (per current agreement between NHLPA and league). Maybe teams don’t choose to sign them, and maybe there will be some disciplinary action, but banning them from league would be very hard. And if proven to be innocent, they will likely have a strong case in civil proceedings.

I'm not saying that they'll be officially banner but they'll probably be blackballed

I think that Necas-Andersson trade is a nice foundation and may be helpful to both teams.

Agreed, their names will be taboo and teams will be "canceled" if they dare sign them.
