Envgall has to much term it is going to cost more than Wally to dump him, plus 3 mil for a middle 6 foward isn't the worst thing in the world, just got to ride it out for a bit
Lee at 50% gets more 100%
Stephenson and Carrier would resign in Vegas at that price

Nobody's touching that Engvall contract for a few seasons. Ridiculous to give him that much term

Chicago has a ton of picks. They really need a few players now just so Bedard doesn't totally get frustrated and like you say, 3M for a 3rd liner who's in his prime (27) I don't think is bad. I just don't want Envgall anywhere on our roster next year.

Lee- maybe but I just want to move him. We have to break up the core and he is the start. Don't care about the value.

Regarding Stephenson and Carrier. I'm not sure about that. Vegas has to re-sign Hanifin who will cost them around 7M to 8M per year. They also have to re-sign Marchessault, who is going to be coming off a 40+ goal year. His contact a 5M is up and he's going to want more. Than you have both Stone (9.5M) and Hertl (6.75M) coming back next year from injury. Not to mention the following Free agents - Mantha, Amadio, and youngster Dorofeyev. Sorry, 1 more thing, they have LW Brisson who's definitely ready next year.

That's true, but I feel Vegas would definitely match that Stephenson contract especially since Nevada has no state income tax

I like Envgall so agree to disagree

Lee? I love him but I would love 3.5 or 7 million more

Offer sheets rarely happen and LAK easily match that. Or any other team would offer more

you maybe right, could have unvalued him. But he hasn't played much. I'd give him 1M for 3 year and hope he pans out.

So you don’t want a 27 year old in his prime anywhere on the Islanders roster next year but you expect the Hawks to trade a 4th round pick for his remaining 6 seasons at $3m per??? Read that over again slowly and then think about how absolutely ridiculous that sounds.

It's not if you take your emotions out of it. Engvall isn't a fit in NY. He needs an open game. We are a grinding, forechecking team -he's not that player.

Stephenson isn't signing that, someone will offer him more $$ and term then that.

ok, fair enough. You are probably right about undervaluing him. I think he would be great in NY....would offer more something around 5M

Pretty easy no for the Jackets; Olivier is very useful to us and Fasching most likely wouldn't be - at best it's a lateral move.

That’s fine but nobody is paying to take that contract off the Islanders hands, it is far too long for a mediocre at best player. Lou will have to pony up a decent pick to dump him on another team, buy Engvall out or live with him on the roster. The only way he goes without doing one of those three things is if the Islanders take back another bad contract.

Which 'bad contracts' are not something CHI has, nor would they have a need to move at this point if they did.

You are way low on AAV and term for Stephenson. I'd guess he gets at least 5 years and at least $6MM/year

Hawks easily decline. Even if Engvall is worth his $3m cap hit (which is certainly debatable), the remaining term on the contract is a total dealbreaker for the Hawks. The only guys they want tied up long term at this point are Bedard and Korchinski. I honestly see no scenario in which the Hawks take Engvall. And Wahlstrom's value is minimal. He's approaching BUST territory if he's not already there.
