Lee has had a down year production wise but they aren't paying a 1st to move their captain

I'm not Lou, but I've seen a good number of Islanders fans like that trade. Not for the 2024 1st, but one down the road.

Might be something the Habs do. Draft floor trade for sure.

I think it's more likely they package a couple of picks for an established NHL player in the age 22-24 range as they have done each season.

Kakko, Zegras, Lundell ... Probably one of those 3 if they can find a dance partner.

It costs more than that to turn a late 2nd into an early 2nd

A 1st down the road carries more value. Isles aren’t trading a 1st to get rid of him when he’s still a great middle 6 wing. If they want to get rid of him they’ll just buy him out and save 4.1 mill. Trading him with 1/2 retention would also return positive value

No interest in doing that from the habs POV.

They already have a boatload of picks this year so they can easily add to their colorado pick.

The pitt pick has a good chance of being top 40 next year they arent movong that for a late 2nd

I guess. Its highly unlikely considering how 2nds have been traded at the draft.

I'm an Islander fan and I can assure you that a lot of Islanders fans are ****ing dumb, so don't take what we say as even remotely realistic.

I'd love to get a 1st dor taking on Lee but no way do the Isles do that. They'd probably move Pageau or Palmeri instead or retain on Lee to get something back in the trade. I think a 2nd and a 3rd is probably the best the Hawks can hope for.
