I don’t think the Sabres want to trade their only good goalie they have had in the past 10 years.

Hawks obviously decline. No GM is giving up anything for Bryson's RFA rights. He'll be a UFA after Buffalo doesn't qualify him.

Sharks pass. Why does everyone think the sharks will give picks for older players or young change of scenery players. Change of scenery gets you a 7th if the sharks want them.

Boston declines. So does Buffalo.

Boston does not need a goalie or bad centers. They have enough of both.

He had a .912 save percentage for his sabres career on some of the worst teams ever assembled

No, for all of the ufas. Girgensons time as a Sabre should be up, he's been here 10 years, it's time to move on. Kane, is gonna wanna go play for a cup contender, not a team just trying to make the playoffs. Amadio seems like an awful idea, we need grit and another option for the pk, he doesn't add either. Can't see pecse coming here, probably gonna look for a team closer to a cup, and I don't think 6x6 is a ton more than he could get from a cup contender. Bryson is worthless, he cleared waivers last year, nobody is looking for undersized left shot puck movers that don't put up offense. Upl won the starting job, ullmark costs more and can walk next summer, not interested. I do kinda like the Columbus trade, think Columbus is overpaying here, but it doesn't matter- there is absolutely no chance the Sabres move power. I'm fine with moving jokiharju, we've got too many puck moving d, would like to get away from being the easiest team in the league to play against.

To be fair, Buffalo was worse back then vs now and he’s improved substantially with a great goalie coach in Essensa. He wasn’t considered a fundamentally sound goalie when he came to Boston (he is now) and statistically, he’s been the best goalie in the league over the past two years in GSax and it isn’t even close

Either, Krebs and a 3rd isn’t even remotely close in making up the value difference. Not making Buffalo better for a depth player and a weak pick

Everyone and everything in that Columbus trade is untouchable, especially Power (I'd assume). Does this get it done on value? Maybe. But I think both arenas would burn before any of those players got a chance to suit up for the other team.

This is what happens when an Isles fan does a Sabres ACGM

When you compete for playoffs, you acknowledge that some players are worth more to you from a performance standpoint and you may lose them. Your culture is strong enough that players actually want to play for your team and you can replace players you lose in free agency.

I get that as a Buffalo fan, you might not remember those days where you would took free agent risks to make the playoffs and had players who wanted to come to your team if you lost good players

You’d be interesting to actually talk to if u didn’t always resort to the lowest common denominator
Or maybe not? U might just be a jerk

For what? Being truthful. If a team doesn’t pay appropriate value for Ullmark, I don’t see an issue with keeping him and letting him walk.

He’ll be an important part of winning and Boston should be able to use the $5M in salary to get a good talent in free agency.

Losing him at the end of 2024 isn’t the boogey man you seem to want to make it to be

I'd do it. Because the value favors Buffalo just slightly, I'd want top ten protection on the pick, even if it is 2026. But I'd do it. Power can play on the right, since he does now with Dahlin. He's already signed to a long-term deal so there's no anxiety about salary negotiation. This is the kind of return that would absolutely convince me to move both Jiricek and Jenner, too.

On value, yeah, I'd probably do it. I've been saying Buffalo can't land Jiricek without sending Power or Dahlin on the other Buffalo/Jiricek posts, and here it is. I just think it's terribly unlikely Buffalo either team seriously considers it.
