Description
Based on this string of college signings lately, it seems like two probabilities are lining up, the first being they've likely come to an agreement to sign with an AHL team (likely AHL Chicago once again) even though it's not publicly announced, and secondly, they're planning on at least two (Morrow, Nadeau) of these young players grabbing roster spots in the coming year so they can get around the cap squeeze from resigning bigger pending UFAs for this upcoming season. Based on Friedman's comments on 32 Thoughts yesterday, it sounds like Pesce is likely gone, Skjei received multiple "unique" offers from the team and has yet to make a decision to stay or test the market, and Chatfield has been on and off throughout the year dating back to last offseason. On the RFA side he had some speculation that Necas is "going to come to an end this summer" likely indicating that given he'll have Arb rights and has been rumored past trade involvement, he's likely gone at the end of this season and ideally for the Canes to a western conference team.

Given these rumblings, I've got a couple questions to pose:

What "unique" offers could've been proposed to Skjei to keep him? I'm guessing high dollar short term but want to get other takes on that.
Who are the most likely trade suitors for Necas?
And lastly, which prospects have the best chance at making the roster given how many spots will likely be up for grabs next season?

We aren’t signing all these college guys to play next year. They are here to play in 25-26 when our core gets really expensive

That's pretty good value to get JK, but I can't see the Hawks having any interest in that contract. An underperforming player w/ 6 years left is the exact type of contract the Hawks want to avoid.

Man are Canes fans going to be disappointed by the Necas return, I don't think they should trade him but you're not getting this return if you do

Too many years on that kk contract for anyone to give him a "change of scenery" shot

I think CAR will just buyout KK if they want to move on. His buyout is very friendly. If CAR doesn't want him...odds are no team is going to take that contract. It's not like CAR is getting much in return either. Just doesn't make sense.

You'd need to sent a decent chunk of value to dump KK. We've got too many young guys fighting for roster spots the next few years to do that

The other Cs on our roster aren't locked into brutal long term contracts......

He wasn't getting PP time and he was getting bottom-6 minutes in Carolina... not exactly hard to tell why he was struggling to produce points.

The FO won't trade him unless it's for an upgrade... otherwise they'll just sign him

I mean he's been better than the numbers suggest... He's just been comically snakebitten in terms of finishing and he's had a lot of tertiary assists (team-low IPP in-terms of Forwards).

He still started nearly 60% of his shifts in the Ozone....also he would have better linemates on Carolina's 4th line than Chicago's 2nd. Still not interested.

I agree Dicky is better but even if he wasn't I still would want nothing to do with JK.
