Description
Voronkov might leave the NHL so I just put him in the Taxi Squad for now.
I simmed the draft lottery 1 time on tankathon and had CBJ end up picking 5th ovr. So with that pick I went with Cole Eiserman which they have rated at the spot.
Also was just having a bit of fun with it.

Value aside, I genuinely think I'd go insane if Yzerman traded for another LD

Zegras had one off season due to injuries, missing camp, and learning a new system under a new coach while being tasked to overhaul his defensive game.

Laine has been struggling to stay on the ice for four seasons now averaging just over half the games in a season across the last 4 years.

Zegras was unlucky, Laine is a genuine depressed asset at this point, this is not in Anaheim interest.

I like Laine, but I'd be buying low on him due to the risk of his massive contract. Not swapping him for Zegras.

Red Wings have 5 million LD! 🙄

As for Soda, who knows?

Maybe he cracks the Red Wings roster when he's 30? 🤭

I'm not going any where near Laine from an Anaheim perspective. Already 25 yrs old and making nearly 9M AAV is a massive gamble for a guy that has been very recently in the player's assistance program.

What's the best case here? Probably that Laine plays as good as Zegras next season. If that's the case this is a huge "L" for the Ducks given he's an older player making way more money.

Zegras hasn't been "struggling" -- he's been injured and missed over 60 games. In the 14 games he's played injury-free, he has 3 goals and 6 assists which, although below his historical rate of 0.77 PPG is still a 50-point season, and he's 0 in plus-minus so his alleged defensive deficiencies are improving. Contrary to uninformed popular stu-, er, "wisdom," he's not on the market.

I'll bet that the Blue Jackets have their eyes set on LhD Zeev Buium.

Wings pass, when you have 7 thousand of a specific position, you probably aren't paying to add more

It's always hilarious when fans use ridiculous made up fiction as to justify the lowering of a players value.

Yet they'll place him on their own teams top line, top D pair or starting goalie.

I want this player from your team but I'll lowball the crap out of you and you'll eat a $hit sandwich because reasons.

You have to make this trade before his value runs out!

This guy and this other guy says your player is a total douche bag.

But I'm a nice guy so I guess I'll take him off your hands. 🤣

Laine is the better player when healthy. He’s more expensive and older though. I don’t think the jackets would have interest in zegras as long as Kent Johnson is still on the team

I wouldn't say Detroit wouldn't make that deal but other things would have to happen before it to make it work

That's a rather large asterisk to put on that statement. Acquiring Laine's contract carries massive risk due to his health concerns. Over the last 4 seasons he is averaging 43 games a season, barely half.

He may be better when he's on the ice, but the best ability is availability, and Laine is often not available.

Detroit passes, Zero interest in Provorov.

And Zegras is worth more than Laine and a 4th round pick right now.

Anaheim and Detroit decline for obvious, already mentioned reasons. Elvis gets bought out (as much as I think that’s a waste of cap, it’s easier), and Columbus declines the Jarry trade.

Can’t see them going to Eiserman, personally. Last thing they need is a wing that doesn’t do anything but score goals against teenagers.

Nah. Between Werenski and Mateychuk, LHD is a distant third need after center (still a barren wasteland after Fantilli and Sillinger) and RHD (since Jiricek is the only one worth anything in the system). It’ll be whoever drops to fourth or fifth among Lindstrom, Demidov, Catton, or Levshunov.

not sure why you think Voronkov would leave. What's his other option. Go back to Russia and get drafted in a war?
Every person his age who can has fled. He's not going back.

I mean it’s disingenuous to count the Covid shortened season. It doesn’t really make sense for either team. Jackets can just hold onto him and hope he doesn’t get cheap shotted next year leading to freak injuries. Jackets don’t need zegras since they have a similar player in Kent Johnson anyways. Zegras would be redundant

There’s a reason you’ll never see an ANA fan propose this trade. Absolutely no chance from ANA
