Created by: Njdev4
Team: 2024-25 New Jersey Devils
Initial Creation Date: Apr. 18, 2024
Published: Apr. 18, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Sabres get a solid Rd and devils get a shut down ld.

Devils add toughness with ross Colton n help Avs out with their cap situation.

Ullmark for 2025 first and a B prospect.

Salary dump with palat to whoever will be a buyer. Blackhawks are young and have the cap space. Good leadership for bedard and celebrini ( we know it's going to happen). Also give them a pick for taking on the salary.

Devils sign zadorov for more size and shut down LD.

Siegs becomes available n gets moved for a solid forward in Anderson who could use a change of scenery.

Berkley catton somehow falls to the 10th pick. If he's gone then the devils select tij iginla

Not arguing value here but I think Samuelssons age keeps him a sabre unless it’s a swap for someone in that same age range

Palat isn't waiving for CHI. C'mon.

Also, trading our top shutdown LHD for an awful contract, even at 50% is...a move....yeesh

Habs not looking to bring in defensemen.
Also not in a rush to get rid of Anderson especially with only 1 retention spot remaining for next season. This is not the scenario where they would use it.
Forward depth is lacking for the Habs and Defensive depth is abundant.
Not a good match

I would love to get our hands on Holtz though.
What would the devils look for in return? Is WPGs 1st a starting point?

No thanks on Sameulsson dude is always hurt. Rather go after hague from Vegas and give him the same amount of money. What the deal with wanting Anderson still? You over paying for Zadorov and i rather Duhaime over Trenin. Your logic is to waste cap space got it.

The Devils have no reason to move Holtz for picks. They are a "now" team. They aren't moving him for cap reasons or anything else that forces a team's hand.

Dude really loves Anderson to NJ for no reason, get ready brotha, the clueless ACGM will have anderson, samuelsson who is always hurt and every goalie to NJ this offseason YIKES. YOu see him over pay Zadorov even tho NHLFan numbers said Zadorov doesnt fit our system.

Marino is only 26 yrs old n has 3 yrs left on his contract. I added that bc I saw a lot of sabres n devils fan agreeing that would b a hockey trade n fill both of our needs.

I only put Chicago bc they have the space. Pretty much give a 3rd to any team willing to take on palats contract. Doesn't matter where he goes.

Siegs would b on the 3rd pair if we got zadorov n Samuelson. I can't see having him on the 3rd pair making $3.4 so Id put bahl in the position n trade him for a player who still has some potential n could possibly just need a change of scenery. It's worth a shot

Huh younger than I thought my bad. I’d do it, the Sabres seem to like Sammy quite a bit though

So we got a bad player for Siegs?

Also, again...Palat doesn't waive

I'm guessing u always underpay in these. Zadorov will get 5 mill a year. We'll revisit this when he gets a contract. Trenin will also get around 2 a year n is a solid 3rd line player

If the Sabres are going to give up on Samuelsson it won’t be a 1 for 1 deal for Marino. If that’s the main piece coming to Buffalo New Jersey has to add because of how much younger Samuelsson is and his longer contract.

Some people aren't fans of it but I'd take him. He eats a TON of starts, reasonable contract, not locked in long term so limited risk, under 30, and good results in the past

Anderson had 32 points in 21-22 n 22-23. This past year he didn't do great but he also is getting the holtz treatment where he is getting 8 mins a game. A change of scenery could b good for him. He's been about a .4 ppg player over the past 3 years n to get that for $2.75 a year for the next 3 yrs isn't bad.

No. Josh Anderson started the year getting 4 minutes a night on the power play and playing alongside Suzuki and Caufield. He was then so utterly horrific he kept playing himself down the lineup

Over the last three years Siegenthaler has been a top 15 defensive defenceman throughout the league.
Anderson has been one of the weakest overall performers league-wide since... a fair number of years back.

Anderson for Siegenthaler would be nothing short of a disaster for the Devils and should be grounds for firing if Fitzgerald where to pursue this in real life.

I would take Anderson on 50% as a bottom 6 winger in the Miles Wood role. That is it

Why? Wood was / is infinitely better than Anderson.
Wouldn't achieve anything other than setting 2.75m worth of cap space on fire.

Speed and Size. A bit of goal scoring.

I've personally viewed always viewed Anderson as Miles Wood+

Maybe just a taller leprechaun...just go get Trenin if you want to spend the money. At least he fights

Chicago is not a destination for Palat if a 3rd is the sweetener to take him. His performance and reliability have diminished significantly since he joined the Devils. He's not worth his contact at this point. I doubt any team takes on the last 3 years of that deal for a 3rd.
