laugh laugh Sorry that's not an overpay for Brady Tkachuk, Only the #5 overall pick has value. Other than that it's a weak offer.

I'm pretty sure you don't know the meaning of OVERPAY.

Yes but for you to overpay it must mean giving McDavid for Tkachuk lol

Hawks decline. They aren't trading Dach for Barron. And with Anderson included as part of that Tkachuk deal, it's hardly an overpay.

I'm sorry but that has to be the dumbest response I've heard in a long time.

Anderson - Cap dump
Mailloux - Has a lot of work to do if he wants to make an NHL team.
Mesar - Probably becomes a good middle 6 winger

The 5th overall and Mesar is a good start but Brady has put up 30+ goals over the past 3 seasons and there aren't many gritty players that produce with that kind of consistency. He would also be Montreal's best player for at least the next few seasons.

With players not on the trading block like PLD and Zegras their value is debatable, but neither of their have plans to trade either of them.

But saying this is an overpay for Brady completely nonsensical and for your sake I hope your just trying to get people riled up.

Not an overpay. Remove Anderson and it becomes "normal value" which isn't enough to get Tkachuk

There is no McDavid on the Habs roster but even if there was you have to admit that this is nowhere near the best possible offer and definitely not an overpay.

Would you trade Suzuki for that?

Im a die hard habs fan and you couldn't be as far as an overpay right here.

- Josh Anderson has negative value.
- Since drafted Filip Mesar did not show any real progress worth trading for. IMO he lost initial value (I would not trade a 1st round pick between 25 and 32 for him). He's a fine project but best case scenario he's worth a late 1st round pick/ early 2nd or another "project".
- 5th overall is a really great asset but the chances Ottawa can pick up a player just as good as Brady or even slighty worse are very very slim.
- I dont have much to say about Mailloux because I really do think he will be a good NHL Dman.

Even when you add it all up, what do Ottawa really get out of this for trading one of the rarest pure powerfoward in the NHL?

If we want him without giving any core pieces, it has to be a huuuuuuuge overpay. Something like :

5th overall 2024
MTL 2025 pick (easily top 15)
Kaiden Guhle

Even this I can see Ottawa hang up.

You cant accept giving up that much, I get it, its a steep price but you wont get a 25 years old top 10 LW without bleeding a lot.
