Reinbacher was a reach at 5, McTavish was a steal at 3, start adding.

No, thanks, we're not trading Mason McTavish or Trevor Zegras or Leo Carlsson or Cutter Gauthier or Troy Terry.

I disagree. Yes, he's no Matt Boldy, and we might do better over the long run with Martin Necas, but flash is important in this market.

In his D+1 (age 20) year, Pavel Mintyukov played 63 games and recorded 4 goals and 28 points. It will be interesting to see what Reinbacher does this season by comparison.

No. Barron is fringe NHL at this point and about to loose waivers protection, I'd give you a mid round pick for him tops.

I would avoid trading with Ducks. They have a lot of depth. When I designed their ACGM, I was like. They need flashy signings like Stamkos + Chandler Stephenson, while keeping Zegras and McTavish makes way more sense. Maybe a good RD would entice them, but they can also sign another UFA. It really does not make a lot of sense. (Maybe they do Kovacevic for a fourth round pick, lol, other than that, would not try trading with them this offseason.)

I mean, I get your point but McTavish was also a massive reach at 3 when the draft happened.

He's not a fringe NHLer, he's shown he can play in the league. MTL only sent him down because of his waiver exemption status. Next year he'll be in the league full time

Out of necessity perhaps, not because he played himself onto a roster spot.

Let me ask the question this way, would you knowingly give up Barron to acquire a Beck today? Because that's what Gaucher is, our Owen Beck future 3C.

I’ve noticed Ducks fans logic goes as follows.. only take into account every positive part of a Ducks player and focus solely on the bad of the opposing player.

You see Zegras didn’t have a bad year this season but he was hurt, out of rhythm and you must ignore every part of his 200 foot game this season. Think of the past, only.

Josh Anderson is terrible because of only this year and not because he’s been on a bad team trying to adjust his style with MSL giving weekly videos lessons. Don’t think of him scoring consistently at over a 20 goal pace per year as a power forward.

Rules for thee not for me should be their slogan on this forum,

While McTavish > Reinbacher, I wouldn’t exactly call McTavish a steal at 3. If a redraft happened right now I’m not sure he’d still go top 3

I'd say he still goes at least three. I could see Hughes jumping him, but I can also see Beniers falling off as he suffered from the sophmore slump while McTavish improved upon his rookie performance.

I’d keep Beniers slightly above him personally. I’d also put Johnston ahead of him as well

Josh Anderson has been bad for awhile. Also Zegras was fine this season when he was on the ice. You guys just don’t watch him and look only at box scores.

McTavish was a massive reach at 5 (bigger than Reinbacher). Reinbacher has looked like a solid pick so far. You can’t ignore that.

The difference between them is probably our first this year, who should be 5th OA, and Winnipeg’s first
