I'm not a Jackets fan but I would say he's more than attainable, maybe the package changes if he's involved to something like Sillinger, Peeke and a 2nd round pick

Cap Trouble
This team needs a #1 goalie and solid LHD to play with Clarke at bare minimum boys. With 2.5 million in cap space this is the definition of cap trouble

He's asked for a trade brother, I'm not pulling this out of thin air. We're talking about a guy who makes 6.4 million for long term who had a .899 SVP last season and 4 year average of .901. You can trade him and sign someone who can probably do just as good. A team acquiring him would hope they can fix him, but this is a 30 year old guy not a spring chicken.

Kings
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tkecanuck341</b></div><div>There's so much factually wrong with this, it's insane. I can't tell if you're being purposefully disingenuous or not. There are zero examples here of a team giving up a 1st round pick for a sub $4M cap hit.
1. Chicago gave up Teuvo Teräväinen, not Panarin. They also got back a 2nd and a 3rd round pick in the trade.
2. Clarkson was given up by Columbus along with a 1st + 2nd as part of the expansion draft so that Vegas would pick William Karlsson instead of one of their other quality young players. It's disingenuous to suggest that the picks were solely for the dump.
3. Detroit gave up the 20th overall pick (along with a 2nd and Joe Vitale), but they got the 16th overall pick back in the same draft. Again, you're either ignorant of the details or being disingenuous.
4. Grabovski - Like Columbus, this was part of the expansion draft and not just a cap dump.
5. Ladd - Winnipeg got a 1st round pick BACK for Ladd when they traded him to Chicago. They didn't pay a 1st. The Islanders later signed him as a UFA and traded his contract as a cap dump for a 2nd and a 3rd.
6. Marleau - Had a $6.25M cap hit on a 35+ contract with a NMC. There was no AHL cap relief waiting for him. Significantly more than Petersen's.
7. Monahan - Had a $6.375M cap hit. They could have buried him, but still his cap hit would have been in excess of $5M.
Funny you bring up Andrew Ladd, because his dump from the Islanders to Arizona is probably the most relevant here, and it only cost them a 2nd and a 3rd round pick. That's a reasonable comparable to dump Petersen's contract.</div></div>
I think you're manipulating the situation a bit, this is not a sub 4 million dollar cap hit. You can't say "assuming he's burried the cap hit is only this" because some of the contracts were also burried or stashed on LTIR which is 0 cap hit lol. His cap hit is over 5 million.

His cap hit isn't bad while buried in the AHL, and the Kings can just buy him out next summer for a negligible buyout cap hit. $6.85M in cap over 3 years. Only $5M in actual dollars.</div></div>
his cap hit is 3.8 million if in the AHL lol, how can you say thats not bad?

If we can't move him for something reasonable, we will send him to the minors for his final year. There is absolutely no reason to give up prime draft capital for something like this were we control where he can go.</div></div>
If Monahan required a 1st so will Bailey, it's a different story if YOU don't want to, but this will be the cost if LOU wants to make other moves.

It's going to cost you a 2nd rounder plus just to get rid of Mantha, Eddy is a solid 2nd pair guy who has been apart of several cup runs and a stanley cup, how do you figure this is bad when Edmondson himself will likely cost a 2nd?

I get why Toronto would do this but why would San Jose?</div></div>

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>wojohawk</b></div><div>Olofsson is of no use to the Hawks (and no they won't take him to flip him for some grand return later to justify value on a Murphy trade). The Murphy ask is going to be a first adn probably even need a small add. The only thing that makes any sense between Buffalo and Chicago for Murphy is a first round pick (pick whatever year you would like) or Isak Rosen. The Hawks already have plenty of 2nd/3rd round picks upcoming and will have no problems using cap space to add plenty more. They are going to be looking for assets that have a much higher liklihood of actually hitting.</div></div>
