couple trades
All of these trades favour the Jackets...Leafs wouldn't trade Brodie straight up for Roslovic, nevermind that you have them giving two 3rds as well.
Peeke is a negative asset, he can barely crack the Jackets lineup and has two more years at 2.75M...you're paying another team to take him.

If they add
I wouldn't hate the idea of Larsson retained at 50% for a package including our 2024 1st (I do not think he is worth it alone), but I would try to get Wennberg in the package as well and add more assets to the 2024 1st to get it done. Treliving has said at times he is looking to add a centre, Wennberg would be a good fit at 3C.

Trade Deadline - Playoff Push v3
Kampf would not cost a 2024 2nd to move, don't listen to unhinged people on this site. He is overpaid relative to his production yes, but there is no way the leafs pay to dump him at the deadline, he is still an important piece defensively and on the PK. I can see them moving him in the offseason when teams have more space, he would have positive value at that point and could bring back at mid round pick at least, especially considering the cap is going up a reported 4+ mil.

No one is paying that for Dumba, lucky to get a 2024 3rd with retention, maybe another late round pick for the retention.

The Athletics proposed trade
Both deals look good, love the idea.
I think a 2025 3rd for the retention on Tanev is steep based on previous deadline deals, but I agree with what you said about Calgary being hesitant to retain. Maybe a prospect and give them back their 2024 5th could replace the 2025 3rd?

Duhatscheks deadline deal
Fantastic idea - I like it.
Both trades would defintely need salary retention, so maybe some mid round picks to balance the scales, but the meat of the idea is great!

So what your saying is unretained Tanev is worth more then retained Hanifin? Pure craziness.
Leafs have to pay more because "it's the Leafs" I guess - no other logical explanation.

Keep Fabbro, but Leafs will take Schenn and Trenin for the package you proposed. Even change the 2024 5th to our 2024 3rd if you want!

Tanev and Laughton
Significant overpay for unretained Tanev - the 2024 1st alone is an overpay for him unretained. The reported ask is a 2nd and a mid level prospect.
Brodie has looked much better since moving to his natural side, subtracting him for Tanev is not the upgrade you might think it is. Leafs would then need to replace Brodie. Timmins has very little value, but he is still probably equivalent to a 6th or a future 5th.

Leafs dont even consider it, he is no where near worth 4.75M for two additional years. Retain 50% and maybe something can be worked out.

That's fair to suggest you do not think he is worth a 2nd, I do not think many teams would pay a 2024 2nd for Jarnkrok either. He is not available for trade anyway most likely, his production for 2.1M and term remaining is very valuable to the Leafs.
I was only commenting on the "cap dump" part of the comment, and the lack of understanding of what a cap dump truly is.

Do Something
Kampf, while certainly being overpaid relative to his production, is most certainly not a cap dump. In that case, a lot of NHL bottom 6 forwards are cap dumps.
Don't let people on this site convince you it would cost draft picks to move any of your bottom 6 players...

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LuckyMoneyPuck</b></div><div>there is no way the penguins are taking cap dump Järnkrok off your books.
Maybe in a year or two they will take him and a 2nd when they start to rebuild. But they sure as hell wouldn't every give up a draft pick for him.</div></div>
If you think Jarnkrok is a "cap dump", then there is not much reasoning that can be done with you. Most of the league's bottom 6 forwards must be "cap dumps" then.
It is fine to think your team does not need the player, but to suggest a third line player on a very team friendly deal is a cap dump is lunacy.

I like the idea in theory, just not something you usually see mid-season. I can see a trade like this happening at the draft if they hold onto their first and win a round or two in the playoffs so the pick is a later first.

I Duclair Bankruptcy
I like the idea of targeting Seeler and Duclair, both trades look pretty good to me...I think Seeler might cost a little more, if it's the 2026 3rd Philly would likely need a 2024 4th or 5th to go with it.
I think Duclair might come in a little cheaper, if it's a 2024 3rd I think adding Hirvonen and another pick is a slight overpayment. 2024 3rd and a prospect should be enough imo. But ya never know at the deadline!
Nice ideas!

TDL Ideas
Seems like 3 picks for Seeler is a bit rich, 3rd and 5th seems reasonable...I think Leafs would do the 2024 3rd instead of 2026, then add a 2024 or 2025 5th to seal the deal.
I hope this deal gets done and the Leafs get him!

Trade
If the leafs were willing to make that deal it would already be done - no one is paying a first for unretained Tanev. The asking price is a 2nd and a prospect, that is likely with 50% retention unless the flames take back a similar contract.
Now if the deal also had Hanifin retained, the 2024 1st ++ would most certainly be in play...

Leafs would probably do that trade, although it may be outbid by another team willing to move a 2nd and a prospect for 50% retention. Tanev is not worth a 1st like a lot of people on this site think, given his age and injury history.
You kind of snuck that Vanecek for Byram trade in at the end, surprised no one's head haven't exploded over that one yet lol. No way you can think the Avs would consider that!
