Durzi for Francouz is fine -- in fact, it's an excellent idea. The rest of that offer is just silly.

Lets see it through
With the Gavrikov signing LA doesn't need a LHD especially a small expensive one. LA has no cap space for $5m 3rd pairing Dman. Durzi for Girard might be a fair swap as they have similar playing style and points but no way is LA adding Vilardi. Horrible trade for LA.

I'm with my friend MNKingsFan here -- despite the fact that some of our fellow Los Angeles brethren think that Iafallo is too valuable to trade, I would accept this offer as the Kings GM. But I'd hold out for the Philly pick.

Sorry, you don't have the #1 LhD and starting goalie that we would exchange Byfield for.
But we'll give you Alex Iafallo for the Florida pick.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>PuckLuck_77</b></div><div>What I want for Turcotte at this point in his career is for him to get healthy.
Kings won't entertain selling Turcotte at his lowest value because of health issues (as opposed to if he just wasn't developing due to skill issues).</div></div>
Exactly this, when Turcotte is healthy he starts to trend closer to what we were looking for. Vilardi and Byfield have been waiting games and between those two and Kempe, the Kings brass have proven they will give a wide berth when it comes to prospect development. Turcotte is also very important considering it is unclear if Byfield or Kupari are set to be top-6 centers or not.

I'm at a loss for words. If the deal involved our 2023 first, I will consider this not merely a PR nightmare but also a HUGE hockey mistake. I'll wait to see the official announcement in a little while before commenting further.
I forget . . . does Rob Blake have a statue outside the arena?

I think it’s just confusing, you just paid for a 10 year cup anniversary dinner and retired Browns number. Big time fan service and just said Quick is getting on track at the state of the franchise. How do your players and fans believe you moving forward? Kings will need to impress in the playoffs if this happened. Our window is officially open.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hckeydude123</b></div><div>Kings to that in a heartbeat. Massive overpayment to be honest though</div></div>
No it's really not. If guys like Gavrikov are worth a 1st round pick and more as rentals, then Sean Walker with a year remaining is easily worth a 2nd.
He has been really good recently. I'm not sure why people like to hate on him. He's frequently traded in ACGMs due to the Kings logjam at RHD, but that doesn't make him a bad defensemen.

Why would we want to trade Cal Petersen at a loss? HIs cap hit is $3.875 million if he stays in Ontario for the season, and then we can dump him for peanuts (and no draft picks) in June 2024 if he doesn't work out.

Lets tank
Take out the first-round draft pick and Los Angeles might entertain that offer. Walker for Schenn is an even swap. Grundstrom and Kupari for Kuzmenko is probably in favor of Vancouver, but let's call it even. Demko isn't better than Petersen with retention by a first, and maybe not by a third. GSAx is only one statistic. Demko's numbers aren't significantly different from Petersen's, either this season (3.93 GAA, 0.883 SV% vs. 3.75 GAA, 0.868 SV%) or career (48% win%, 2.94 GAA, 0.909 SV% vs. 46.8% win%, 2.92 GAA, 0.905 SV%), to make the difference between them more than a third-round draft pick, if that, because Demko's contract runs one year longer than Petersen's and is under water ($17 million over 3 years on a $5 million per year cap hit).

Durzi Signed and Projected Opening Night Roster
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MNKingsFan</b></div><div>I respectfully disagree. Outside of Chicago and Arizona there is literally no team with the cap space or roster flexibility to take him without a cap neutral trade. I also wouldn’t see those two teams trying that anyway given the desire to preserve their cap space to trade for draft picks this coming deadline. Any other year I wouldn’t even float this because Walker is worth assets. But they won’t lose him this time around.
Does it happen given how Blake has handled waivers in the past…maybe not. But this isn’t so unreasonable to consider because suitors for his cap hit are almost nonexistent.</div></div>
I still think it's very unlikely, but to defend your point Walker after such a lengthy injury would be able to get a conditioning assignment if Clarke really blew the doors off in camp.

I'm an LA fan.
I have Calgary and Edmonton as a coin flip for the division title. LA, Vancouver and Vegas fighting for the #3 spot, and San Jose, Anaheim, and Seattle competing for Bedard.
I hope Calgary wins, because I want another crack at Edmonton in the playoffs.

The Kings had a rookie play on the top pair last year and he only got better as the season went on, they want a top LD but not a rental, think Werenski level player who is an RFA at contract end. That is a player who they would give up a 1st, a great prospect, and supplemental picks. The Kings can just overpay to get a placeholder free agent LD for one year and take their shot at Reilly then.

Rebuild
I've seen this Turcotte/eighth-overall/Quick-for-Reinhart trade suggested more than a dozen times, and now among Sabres faithful it's taken on the status of Gospel. Guys, it's not happening. There's no reason for us to trade Quick at all, for the reasons stated by my esteemed colleague <a href="/users/PuckLuck_77" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@PuckLuck_77</a>, and even with a lengthy extension, Reinhart isnt worth two top-ten draft picks to us.
