Cap Space Leveraging
Paying a 1st to move their best defensive RD when there are other ways to get cap compliant is a really bad idea.

I won't argue the value of Seeler, don't know much about him so I'll take you at your word.
I think there is enough guys in house they can find to fill the 6/7D spot without having to give up anything.

Not much cap room to bring in Seeler.

Hold up, you mean a guy who is making a hair under 7M right now and is due for a new contract in a year is going to make more than a guy who literally just signed a 7M AAV contract today?
Color me shocked, would have never seen that coming.

1. They arent giving that kind of money to another winger. They already have caufield making almost 8 so giving 10 to nylander is terrible cap management.
2. If the habs are giving out that kind of assets its for a 1C not a winger.
3. Nylander wants way more than hes worth. The habs arent going to be the ones to give it to him.</div></div>
You think Josh Anderson, a future maybe mid round first pick, a late 2nd and a 2nd 3 drafts from now is going to get you a 1C?

Neither the father or the so called "victim" EVER went to the police nor cooperated with investigation until they were most likely forced too by the settlement agreement. The reason there is little info on the current investigation is because the NHL must be extremely careful here because if they can be sued into oblivion by the real victims (the players).</div></div>
Can't imagine why SA victims don't come forward with people who have perspectives like this.

Take one look at their remaining cap space after the Gustavsson signing.

Okay.
Currently sitting at 1.64M in cap space.
MIN is taking on 1.675M in this deal. Use either the goalie in this trade as your backup or find a vet goalie unsigned for league min. Roughly 30K over the cap.
Faber goes down, temporarily. Get Addison signed, Rossi can go down (again temporarily). Accrue cap space. Call back up.
Seems like it can be done.

There's a couple of avenues TOR can go to get cap compliant.
A deal like this, I'm not going to nickel and dime here the 5th is fine, and sending down Robertson to the AHL. Or trade Jarnkrok for a bit of a better pick.
Not sure which avenue I'd prefer.

Can't complain about league minimum. Could see some time with the Leafs this season, more than likely he gets a real look next season with so many empty roster spots.

Very fair argument, Hughes' contract in particular totally slipped my mind.

Unless full details aren't out yet.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Caniac555</b></div><div>The leafs are currently still 2m over their LTIR cap overage usage. The calculations on the ACGM are not right when using LTIR. They assume 100% utilization of the cap hit of the LTIR player, which is not the way it’s done IRL.
The Leafs will have to do some additional cap gymnastics to be ready for the season. There is plenty of time still obviously but it is not an accurate assumption that Murray LTIR fixed anything or doesn’t matter.</div></div>
TOR may still have some work to do to become cap compliant, but that doesn't mean giving serviceable players away for "FC". I'm sure a reasonable deal can be had here.

I don't mind the idea of him getting re-signed but I suspect a 6M+*5 won't go very well. With Gardiner's skill set in the Ozone and Holl's number and tendency for blunders, fans are probably going to go crazy.
I'm curious if Rielly-Klingberg which no one wants to see (out of fear of what would happen in the dzone) could actually turn out to be much better than Rielly-Gardiner pairing.</div></div>
At this point, I'm not sure what the pairings will look liked. Reilly-Klinger sounds like a defensive nightmare, and McCabe even likes to join the rush so McCabe-Klinger is a little sketchy.

Unless Klinger is lights out this year and finds a way to play defense, I do not want him here for term. The 1 year deal is fine.
