An Actual Good Marner Trade
I wouldn’t touch that from oilers perspective. Nuge is highly underrated plays a massive role on both special teams and fits in perfectly flawlessly beside either mcdavid or Leon. Can cover centre in the top six when one of them misses time. Marner as great as he is I wouldn’t give up the role nuge plays for him it’s far beyond just points impacts the game in several ways. Adding anything to nuge just makes it farther from a possibility then factor in the cap situation and it’s not even possible to make sense of.

Was referring to Cehlarik. If Klefbom was healthy lets say that's Klef for Debrusk then Moore is a dump 3 years of overpaid 6-7 Dman so basically 3rd+Cehlarik to move him. Its hardly an overpay as stated above.

Thata rich coming from a leafs fan who thinks Johnson and Dermott gets tou Manson.
Larsson is a right handed top 4 defensively skilled defenseman which fills the leafs biggest need. Not to mention he comes with term which is also a problem going into next year for the leafs.
Johnson is a middle 6 forward that is the 3rd best player when playing in the top 6. Name any competing team other than Edmonton where Johnson is at least the 2nd best player on one of their top top 2 lines. Johnson is also expendable with the breakout of Mikheyev. This is a very good trade value and needs wise

Interesting maybe thoughts
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ricochetii</b></div><div>If I'm overestimating Nurse, then he isn't worth Ehlers.
If you trade him you'll regret it within 2 years. All he needs is to stop fighting and get a legitimate top pairing RHD to partner with.
Nuge isn't worth more than Ehlers and if he is, the difference isn't significant and his shorter contract negates it anyway.
RNH: 8 seasons, 3 20+ goal seasons, 1 60+ point season.
Ehlers: 4 seasons, 3 straight 20+ goal seasons, 2 60+ point seasons.</div></div>
last season:
ehlers: 37pts
Nuge: 69pts
Nuge plays centre, tougher minutes and with worse teammates. hes far more valuable

Big moves
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ricochetii</b></div><div>Nuge is not "way more valuable", and Ehlers is not mediocre. I don't think the Oilers need to add. Pretty even swap right now, imo. RNH has more experience, but is also close to his ceiling. Ehlers is already more productive, despite a down year, and has 4 more years of growth before he approaches his ceiling.
I'll quote my comment from another thread:
Nuge isn't worth more than Ehlers and if he is, the difference isn't significant and his shorter contract negates it anyway.
RNH: 8 seasons, 3 20+ goal seasons, 1 60+ point season.
Ehlers: 4 seasons, 3 straight 20+ goal seasons, 2 60+ point seasons.</div></div>
Look at the career ppg, the fact nuge is a center and kills penalties makes him significantly more valuable

Big moves
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MisstheWhalers</b></div><div>Okay I'll ask you both this, why would the Jets trade a young winger who's locked up for 5 years longer then RNH is for a C that's gonna need a big raise in just two seasons? It's the difference in the length of their deals as to why I think this is a bad deal for the Jets and it's the reason why this trade is proposed the way it is cause in the long run the Oilers get what they need and don't have to pay RNH in two years something he likely won't live up to.</div></div>
I don't think RNH is due for a "big" raise as good 2nd line centers should be in the 6-7M range. Regardless RNH has more value to the Oilers as he allows the flexibility to shift the top 6 around and cover for any potential injuries

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dzad96</b></div><div>Doesn't make sense for EDM unless they trade RNH does it?</div></div>
it could if they decide to put him on the wing. It would also allow them flexibility to put RNH with McDavid and Draisaitl in situations where they are trailing in games.

New Edmonton
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>corsiagainst</b></div><div>well this is factually incorrect. If you look at RNH advanced stats the player he has played the most with in the past 3 years is McDavid on the WING. Sure he plays a bunch of center to but he's had his most success career wise on the wing with McJesus. </div></div>
Past 3 years, 5v5, RNH's most common line-mate by far is Lucic, at 941:15 of his 3017:04 minutes (31%). TOI with McDavid is 588:12, or less than 20% of his total TOI. Meanwhile, your facetious argument falls apart even further when we look at Reinhart's most common line-mates: Eichel (1465:00!! or 44.4% of his TOI), O'Reilly (672:19) and Skinner (641:45).
Here is RNH's scoring compared to Reinhart's:
RNH with McDavid: 2.35 p/60 (588:12)
RNH overall: 1.71 p/60 (3017:04)
Reinhart with Eichel: 1.80 p/60 (1465:00)
Reinhart overall: 1.63 p/60 (3302:48)
So Reinhart gets far more time with the teams superstar, never plays center (more defensive responsibilities), and never has to drag Lucic around the ice.
RNH > Reinhart

I really don't like the Larsson acquisition...seem like a steep price for two years. Rather keep Zaitsev...and Brown, and Liljgren.. If necessary trade Brown for a pick.</div></div>
I know he gets brow beaten a lot because of the brutal trade how he got to Edmonton, but if you value defence, Larsson’s advanced stats are easily top pair value. A decent but not top prospect, mediocre pick, and 4th line penalty killer is a pretty sweet deal imo.

Real Talk Is Draisaitl a Top 10 Player in the NHL
Draisaitl is on pace to score 108 points this year. Lets look at all the players that have done better in the past 10 years:
H. Sedin, 2009-10: 112 points
Crosby, 2009-10: 109
Ovechkin, 2009-10: 109
Malkin, 2011-12: 109
And that's it. Of course, Kucherov and McDavid have already surpassed these numbers this season with games left (121 / 114) and Kane will likely get above 108 as well.
If Draisaitl continues on his recent pace (23 points in 13 games in March) he'll end up with 110 points, ahead of the best seasons from Crosby, Ovechkin, Malkin etc in the past 10 years. If that isn't elite I don't know what is.

Not saying it isn't a bad trade, for one the ice value, but it's a bad roster. You really gotta show the Leafs RFA signings and roster of 23 with 83m cap. The trade doesn't help the Leafs cap issues.
