Not this Avs fan. You might like Tyson Jost on Buffalo now too.

He's still played well. He's just living under a microscope now. Social media went nuts on his line change against the Flames but ignored Bo right behind him gliding off the ice as well. It's current Van media craze.

He will get a good return but you cant compare trade values from TDL to TDL, its different everytime</div></div>
Definitely, but he’s more valuable than all those guys except Horvat. At least he should be.

No Miller is not getting traded. No he’s not a cap dump. And he’s much better than what this season has shown.</div></div>
i agree, just stirring the pot. Reading this website you would think there are only like 7 good players in the NHL.

Don’t see any of those pieces being that interesting for Vancouver. With the Avs lack of higher end prospects they’d have to start an offer with the 2023 1st (unless for whatever reason they make Byram/Newhook available, but that’s unrealistic)

It isn’t the worst trade, not a fan of taking back Pearson. Would rather just trade for kuzmenko and buyout Bailey after the season.

Canucks
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>zackhendo</b></div><div>I'm very much not saying that.
You were implying his sh% is inflated and therefore he won't continue at this pace. I agree. I'm saying the above return (seems fair based on others opinions of the prospects, I've never seen either of them play) is not what someone would ask for the return on a 60 goal scorer. If Auston Mathews was on an expiring contract last year, it would cost more than this to acquire him.</div></div>
Ah, misunderstood you on that, apologies.
I think the Copp return on steroids is what Vancouver should be shooting for. No conditions, just a straight up 1st this year, plus a better prospect than Morgan Barron, and an additional 2nd should be the starting point. If you *really* want to blow the other offers out of the water, throw in another B-tier prospect and I think it nails it. For the Leafs I'd say Niemela//2023 1st/2024 2nd starts the conversation; if you want to get the deal done in one phone call, add in someone like Nick Robertson and I think it's a done deal.

If you want Horvat this is the price
More than reasonable for a first round ask, I think a 2024 1st and a good 25 year old on a nice contract like sandin would get him but no question Horvat gets a first round pick. Maybe Vancouver can send back a second round in the deal, Horvat makes any team much better. He's going to land where a team needs a good second or third centre which is 10 different playoff bound groups either east or west, he will get moved and he'll sign a big offseason deal too in my opinion, going to be fun to watch.

Miller's just overrated, and he's a net meh player. He's great and offensive at one end, but he's so shakey at the other that the good doesn't outweigh the bad. His dxG is a negative, even as a point per game player... let that sink in.</div></div>
I think you're probably the only person in the world that thinks Miller is a meh player...
Say you don't like the trade, fine - that's different from calling Miller a meh player which is just not true.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Caniac2000</b></div><div>Easily. Laine's offensive upside alone > Miller. you say Laine's defensive issues are a major red flag (and that's true) but Miller isn't much better</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>evelutions2</b></div><div>KK being expendable is a huge laugh. Canes are currently grooming him to take over as 2C likely next year. The only reason he is being played in a sheltered role is to help him develop, and the progress he made was very evident in the 2 games Carolina dressed half an AHL roster. Plus, that is a garbage package to trade for Miller. I can see the Canes trying to snag Fiala, but Miller is a bit overrated.</div></div>
Miller would lead the Canes in points. He's top 10 in NHL scoring and has more points than Matthews, Nylander, and Laine. It's not a fluke either. He's been around a PPG center since joining the Canucks.
And before you say line mates - he's spent a lot of this year and last year with garbage linemates and has recently still been producing on a line with Chiasson and Pearson (they suck).
Miller way be a WAYYYYYY better 2C than KK next year.

We JUST started a rebuild and have tons of wingers. Why would we trade assets to pay a guy big bucks who will be out of his prime. If we are going to pay someone it should be a RHD</div></div>
Bc he’s a goal scorer
And u act like he’s gonna be 35- he’s still an RFA after this season
He’s 24 years old dude
Younger than Olofsson & Tuch for example
He fits our timeline just fine
Also…. We have TONS of cap room
This wouldn’t stop us from paying a RH defenseman too

Have to disagree with you there, Eichel is twice the player Nico is. He's easily a top 10 center in the game, Hischier isn't even close to that.

I disagree. Q Hughes is elite (by the way Jack Hughes isn't elite). Smith may end up being a top 4 Dman. Mercer and Boqvist are totally unproven. You don't trade your potential SUPER star for lesser players. End of story.
Also Pettersson has not earned an $11m contract yet.
