Obviously not lol. Colorado did an excellent job with Graves, nobody saw this coming when the trade was made.

Graves looked to be a career AHLer when this trade was made. Nobody saw him become what is he today.

I remember actually being pissed we traded Graves. Despite the dope name, he has a very solid defenseman imo and showed flashes of what he's shown now and the physicality and dangerous hits he'd thrown in Hartford was fun to watch. Sucks Gorton thought Bigass was better lol.

Gorton was not alone! Bigras had some stints with the big club and looked decent; Graves looked like he was never gonna make it. I'm still shocked as to how this turned out.

They never really gave him a shot. Our AHL team back then was managed brutally and a bad team. if Graves got an NHL call up he'd likely play really good.
