The 2019 1st LAK is still otb. the pick will be top 5. I am looking for a a really nice prospect or player that will help me a lot next season

If anyone is looking for AHL depth, I have Zach Redmond and Ryan Sproul available very cheap as they are UFAs at the end of the season

Columbus will listen on an Artemi Panarin sign and trade. No guarantee he's moved but at least curious to see what's out there. Contact either via twitter or on team page. Any deal would include an extension of Panarin.

How do UFA signings work? How would you guarantee an extension? (I'm not looking to make the deal, I'm just confused about how this would work.)

As of now, that rule still stands. Any UFA that is signed/extended can't be traded until the following calendar year (so Jan 1st 2020 in this case).

I'll make sure it's clear in the rules doc, I think we've distilled some of the sections a little too far...

Apologies if this was already covered somewhere, but a question re: NMC's and the expansion draft;

David Backes has a NMC until the end of 2018/19, then it changes to an M-NTC for 2019/20. In this case does his NMC apply to our in-game expansion draft that I would be required to protect him?

The way I understand it is because it switches to a M-NTC you do not need to automatically protect him.
But not 100% trust me on that as I may be mistaken but that's how I understand it to work.

Thank you sir. One more question while we're on the topic; What leagues are included in the under two "professional seasons" for younger players? Is it just NHL, NHL and AHL, or does it count men's leagues in Europe too?

Only the NHL and AHL count.
Also, if the NMC is in its final year of the contract, the the player is set to become a UFA July 1st, they do not need to be protected.
