*NEW RULE ANNOUNCEMENT*

As of today, the rule regarding NMC trades has been altered. Previously, only 1 NMC contract was allowed to be traded by a team during a season. That has been changed. Now, a team can move as many NMC's as they want, with a penalty. The penalty stems from the salary of said player. If the player's deal is 2M or less, a 3rd round pick is forfeited. 2.1M-4M would be a 2nd round pick, and 4.1M+ is a 1st round pick. The draft pick forfeited must be that of the team in question, meaning a team cannot forfeit an acquired draft pick from another team. This new rule will be added to the rules doc shortly.

Can one NMC still be moved without needing to give up a pick? I also think this could create problems in the draft, with a way lower amount of picks.

Yes, per the Rules Doc, teams may move up to one NMC in a season (2018-2019, 2019-2020, etc.). The NMC draft pick forfeiture won't apply for everyone, as some either won't move a second NMC. At the most, it's about 31 picks that can be lost due to a second NMC being moved. In reality, it's probably going to be closer to a single digit number.
