I'd take that Spurgeon trade with hopes of flipping Kadri.

Edit: also, Myers would be perfect for Toronto if they can move the right pieces to fit him in! (as you've accomplished)

So this set of trades seem fair to me and I like the idea of Spurgeon/Myers on the Leafs.

Might want to ask @TanSor how he sees this from Minnesota's angle.

I know you and other fans want to see a rebuild but what if Fenton can't because of owner?
Trading Kadri would make less sense in that situation, no?

You sure did, not gonna lie though.
I got stuck at one point doing this one, mostly cause I tried something else with Zaitsev which failed

Have ideas for him??

I think you're right and it would. I'm just not sure we have the playmaker to bring out the best in Kadri. He's probably a 20g player on our team, but I've been wrong before.

ec eriksson has not shown he can really be an good nhl player and you have been put in at 3c. trading kadri and kapanen for the single season of sturgeon, far too much. having zaitsev and marleau cap gone should be good enough for the leafs this year

1) About Hyman, can he be put on LTIR if he will really be out till December ? Or maybe i understand it wrong, but you will have to dump 3M when they both with Dermott come back ( proly Brown for pick i know, but opposite team will have leverage to give you less )

What is LTIR?
When a player has an injury of which they are expected to miss a minimum of 10 NHL games and 24 days in the NHL season, the team can place them on long term injured reserve (LTIR). LTIR can be used to exceed the salary cap.

2) the third line is very weak i would say, you lost 2 depth players for starting to build elite D, but no assets to replace them *cough* my thread *cough*, you were concerned about rolling "to weak" Petan with Kapanen and Johnsson, but i think yours is weaker ( and thats not some butthurt revanshism comment, just how i see that third line )

3 ) also the term on Marner....

I have tried really hard to imagine what a successful trade of Marleau would look like, and failed several times, so I'm the wrong person to ask. I know that the Kings want a big contract to go the other way, so it should take the form of Carter or Toffoli or maybe even Phaneuf going to Toronto for Marleau and a high draft pick, but I just can't come up with something that looks right.

I love the Dallas and Minnesota trades, though. Good job!

I like it all but I still can't stomach trading Kari right now. I think it's too knee jerk

Yep, works pretty even the Leafs had to go from fourth to second rounder. Like the Dallas trade if Dallas likes Zaitsev for five years. Leafs could live with just the Marleau trade for cap reasons.
But you really went overboard on that Minni trade. Again the acquisition of a RHD at all costs has to be controlled. Leafs could certainly trade just Kadri or just Kapanen and get a capable Dman in return.

I would leave them Hossa, only takes up 200k in real money. I would say Marleau and a 2nd if they try driving a hard bargain add a prospect. Nothing but future considerations coming back.

Mitch goes to offer sheets for that; several teams offer $10.5M x 7, Leafs go to match...whoops, not enough cap room.

Plenty of room. 10% overage and no need for a 23 man roster in offseason.

Again....TML will cover everything up to $10,568,591,

I know its hard to accept your decade is over and you are sailing into a waters where TML were for last 50 years, but gloating, butthurting in TML threads with Offer-sheets ( and overpaying to send TML into Cap troubles ) but mostly living in denial wont make it any better

As they should, but in reference to this Armchair, which is what my comments are pertaining to, $292K doesn't leave any room to match.

LMAO...the second part of your statement is hilarious...pretty much shows who's the one really butthurt and who's not...well done! applaud
