Hawks not giving up two 2nd rounders for a guy who is 30+ when they could just sign a FA goalie

I think they are just doing it to annoy us now.

We’re not giving you pick 33 for two guys we don’t need

Imagine trading Lindblom the second he recovers from bone cancer lol he’s almost as untouchable as Hart, at least this summer

every single Anderson to Chicago thread has been shut down by hawks fans, so why would you make another one?

The Flyers wouldn't trade Lindblom for McDavid after what he has been through this year

I like Hyman's game a lot but he'll be a 29 y/o UFA at the end of next season and not likely to take a short term deal with Ottawa. Nor would OTT be able to trade him for a pick that's anywhere near as high as OTT's 2021 2nd at the trade deadline, so that doesn't help the rebuild at all. And Holl isn't of any interest to us either.

I'd be willing to give OTT's 2020 3rd for Hyman though since we might be able to get a late 2nd for him at the trade deadline, and if not, no big loss.

Like every Oiler fan sending Larsson to TO. I actually think Andersen is going to ride out his contract at the very least in TO

I love the sentiment, but don’t be ridiculous. If a good trade comes along there is no reason for them not to do it or seriously consider it.

Team > Individual Player

As crappy as it sounds, it’s a business and business takes precedence over feelings.

Better tell the teams it’s a business, maybe they’ll stop hanging onto players that used to be good for years after they’re relevant lol. Maybe we’d actually see high level players traded in the NHL more often too. I’m 100% positive that the derozan for kawhi trade would never have an equivalent happen in today’s NHL smh. But yeah a feel good story like this? Never gonna happen

I didn’t say it would, but in theory it should. This is why teams struggle for so long because they get sentimental. Look at the Hawks, they resigned guys like Bickell to a large deal that cost them Teuvo. Signed Seabrook to a mammoth deal when he was already well into his 30s. That is unfortunately the problem in the league and that’s why teams struggle to deal with the cap. And you’re telling me that in some imaginary world you wouldn’t trade Lindblom for McDavid like someone mentioned above. Cause if the reasoning is the perception of such a move that’s just stupid and not looking out for the best interests of your franchise.

I’m not saying that I, personally, wouldn’t do it lol but it’s easy for us to be “brutal” in our evaluations and make fair deals involving big names. In reality and considering external factors, the only way they trade Lindblom is for a guy like McDavid lol, he won’t get moved in a fair deal, or even a slight win. This IS a problem imo, but it is reality as well

severson value is decent but still not there especially retained. Problem is it will take an overpayment as we need defense just as Toronto does.
