Top prospect on every team tiers

Created by: AndrewLadd
Team: 2020-21 Custom Team
Initial Creation Date: Dec. 17, 2020

Description
Goalies NOT included for my convienences’ sake. This is obviously all my opinion. All prospects in order (Laf 1st, Byfield 2nd and so on.)

A couple disclaimers:
- It is very likely that all these players become full-time NHLers, so even players in the bottom tiers (looking at you, Cal Foote and Scott Perunovich,) aren’t bad prospects.
- I am open to constructive criticism, as I’m sure my opinions will differ from many others.
-Rossi is a tier 1 prospect and nothing will change my mind.
- I realize I’m about to get smoked in the comments
- Tiers are as follows
-Tier 1: elite top liners/top pairing
-Tier 2: high end top 6ixers/top 4ers
-Tier 3: solid top 6/top 4 guys
-Tier 4: solid middle 6/bottom 4 guys
-Tier 5: have potential to be in tier 4 or even 3, but are less likely to hit their ceiling than the others IMO

It's a minor difference, but in my opinion, Robertson is the leafs top prospect. Overall good list.

Amirov is easily number 2 (unless you count Sandin, he's pretty good too, just he's actually been playing in the nhl).

I forgot ab him, I’m not sure the number of games that you can play to not be cosndiered a prospect anymore though. I think it might be 40???

He's played 28 games, I just looked it up. So I guess he's still a prospect then.

I don't think there's any real defined number of games to be considered a prospect or not. Sandin played 28 so he's no longer eligible for the Calder trophy, but I still consider him a prospect as he's only 20 years old and I don't think he'll be in the lineup full time.

Personally I think it’s more likely Merkley is a tier 3 than a tier 4.

I may not agree with a lot of the guys (jarvis, Rossi) but I think it’s well thought out.

I’d have some guys in tier 2 from tier 3 but I see the logic in if one guy is in tier 3 someone on his level shouldn’t be bumped (Like I’d have Merkley near tier 2 but some of the names there are much more quality and so he doesn’t fit).

Solid list. Would move some players around between tiers but I suppose we're allowed to have some differences of opinion

Probably Askarov for NSH at this point and he'd be tier 1/2.

If this is based on potential which it seems to be for some guys, I dont know how you put Merkley in the lowest tier. I see him being a Tyson Barrie type role if he works which is atleast a good second pairing guy.

My vote is for Perfetti for the Jets as their top high end prospect instead of Heinola ( a good problem to have). Pretty solid list.

not defined games to be a prospect per say but defined games for being a rookie which i guess could take out prospect territory idk lol, sandin is a weird case

Obviously I don't agree with everything, but it's pretty darn good.

As a college hockey fan (specifically NCHC) I can add this: Perunovich should be at least on the same level as Mitchell. He's a very smart player that should have an easier time transitioning than Mitch. Just my opinion (and I'm a DU guy so the bias actually runs in the opposite direction).

I guess someone has to be last place frown

Our best prospect isn't suppposed to be a difference maker, the whole pool is looking shallow, the high end pieces have graduated, and unless Kyrou can get closer to his projected ceiling - this is the make-or-break year IMO - we're left with Dunn and Thomas as the only impact NHLers under 25 in the system grimace flushed cheeks. That being said, they've still done a good enough job at hitting on NHLers with their picks. Just need a few more home runs ASAP (and they took nothing of that sort in the 2020 draft).

Yea I was hoping they took someone cool w their 1st round pick but I’m not a fan of Neighbors. It’s all good for the blues though, that’s what happens with a cup win
