Almost everyone else here had them top 4. They improved on paper from last season and they were already a top 8 team in the West. Nobody had them winning the Cup, but everyone thought they were solidly in the top 4 in Canadian division. They've drastically underachieved. I think they need to trade some key pieces this summer or it'll be another 5 years of "meh" as you say.

NHL.com uses P/GP for points per game. SN uses PTS/G. PPG is the standard abbreviation for Power Play Goals when capitalized. Most people use ppg in lower case letters for points per game.

I'm aware of what the typical abbreviations are, they are just so often misused (for instance, in the comment where I was asking for clarification), that I wanted to make sure I knew which stat he was talking about.

There's a general manager simulation game called Hockey Zen GM that people might be interested in checking out.

It's not very in depth and there's a lot to be desired (ie trades are all over the place, needs a development / rfa system), but it's still fun to mess around in.

I know you're aware. But, this is one of the most common mistakes people make. It's not really a mistake, more confusing. If we have one standard abbreviation then everyone will be on the same page. I see different letters used for these 2 stats all the time and it can be confusing.

That looked season-ending bad. Playoffs too. Ekblad is a beast and he was banging his hand on the ice in pain. It'd have to be very serious for such a strong and powerful guy to be in such pain. He was enjoying a career season, too.

Just a day before he scored two OT goals against Dallas. One of them got disallowed due to offside, but the next one was a good goal, fair and square.

And the next day against the same team he sustains a season-ending injury...

I wonder, is karma at play here? That would require him doing something unjust in the game before, but I've yet to decipher what that bad thing was.

Probably just complete hogwash and just pure bad luck. Hoping that he gets well soon enough and comes back even better player.
