Not as bad as Komarov eh, AndrewLadd?

Pretty sure he's calling in sick every time we're playing PHI from now on

Guys probably going to therapy sessions involving haunting dreams of Mika and the boys

Definitely some interesting waives. I’d think Ennis and Gusev have some value to some team out there.

I could see all of them get picked up, really depends on team need and cap space

Tbh if I’m the Sharks I’d gamble on Gusev. If we can get him back to last years form and sign him to a cheap contract wouldn’t be terrible. He was solid last year. Although we have different plans, I’d think he’ll get claimed by someone.

Ennis is a good pick up for a contender needing depth down the middle. Could be a good 12th guy or 13th that can step up.

Idk enough about Luff to have a opinion.

Islanders moment

Lou winning GM of the year was terrible.

Guys a stubborn GM with no awareness. His way or the highway, and frankly the highway looking real good.

I mean what has HE HIMSELF done for the Isles that's notable? Trade for JGP, not offer Lehner a contract, give some extensions out to players that were already on the Isles, and trade Toews? Am I missing stuff. I can't see much that he's done other than be named Lou Lamoriello. As much as there was to complain about the previous Isles management, he just inherited the pieces he has got. I credit all the Isles success to the Isles players and coaching staff (all the coaches and trainers, although we all rag on some decisions by Trotz). And Barzal quite frankly gave this team some incredible life. I wish the Sharks bet on him, he was my desired selection 9th OA; Meier is amazing but Barzal is something else. Probably the miss I'm most salty about, I'd rank the Karlsson trade behind missing Barzal TBH; Barzal fanboy.

Chandler Stephenson was suspended for 3 games (elbowing) that was similar to the McDavid against Kotkaniemi incident....

“Roberto Luongo is expected to be named general manager of the Canadian team heading to the 2021 world championship in Latvia, TSN's Darren Dreger reported on Thursday's edition of "Insider Trading."

Additionally Luongo is apart of the management for Canada’s Olympic team, as assistant GM. And he already works executively for the Panthers and leads their goaltending program.

I personally find this awesome. I think it’s super cool to see a player, recently, that I grew up watching take big strides like this after retiring. Obviously this happens all the time (like Nabokov for the Sharks). But Luongo seems like he could be heading down the route of GM. It’s gonna be super cool to see him develop as “brass” and I personally cannot wait to see what he does if he actually does break into the NHL as a GM at some point in the future. Big respect for this guy and a great personality, definitely could help grow the game seeing such a vocal and “cool” GM.

Good guy, but I really hope he earns what he gets as far as any type of management role. There are so many people who try so hard to get their foot in that door and it just kind of irks me to see connected people get positions thrown their way.

Very true. But that’s kinda life; especially in the sports world. Although the mold does break more and more it seems. We’ll see how it goes as clearly he’ll have some say with the Olympics team; if he takes a specific role of goaltending it’ll be interesting to see who he chooses and how it goes/ who he misses if Canada does have a hole in net. As Canada’s goalies are in limbo rn.

Idk how much we can learn from the Championships as many players just decline invites etc. So I’d hope to see that what he actually does for us in the Olympics is somewhat transparent publicly. That way you can see if he’s got a good eye, or as you said; is being spoon fed.

Why is Pietrangelo playing top PP over Theodore? Makes absolutely zero sense. Not just 4on3 in OT. All game.

Anyone who watches the Rangers regularly knows how good he's been. He's far outplayed the value of his contract. But, he was terrible before he played for the Rangers so most people will always assume he's just a product of Panarin, as you say. Whatever the reason, he's about as good a #2 C as you could possibly have. I know you know that.

The 1-on-4 goal was just ridiculous.

I have no idea. On the bright side, if there’s any year where it’s easy for players to pass through waivers, it’s this year.

I think the move was to make it easier to move him between the AHL and NHL. And as you said, this year a waiver claim is a lot more “annoying” of a transaction, not as easy to just move guys around any more. I’d assume tho many teams are going to have regrets about some waiver misses.

Especially looking at Alex N in net for Carolina, although I think everyone on this website asked for their team to claim
him lol.
