Anyone know what the vaccine situation is in Western Canada right now? Are more vulnerable people getting vaccinated? People with underlying health problems?

Canada hasn’t had a good vaccine rollout, and the first to get it would be the more vulnerable people. I don’t see players in Canada getting the vaccine anytime soon, but American players could be mostly vaccinated by the start of the next season

Can't say for sure as I live in Europe. But honestly if some NHL players truly wanted themselves that vaccine in a rapid fashion, they have the possibility of getting it from somewhere.

Money makes the world go around, as it is said. And professional athletes tend to get well paid - at least in US.

It they wait through the vaccination program as it should be run through, athletes are probably at the end of the line, and that's for a reason.

And incase it matters Pierre Lebrun has posted what’s going on schedule/ league wise for now if that matters. Things will obviously change but they’re still planning on allowing the Canucks to finish the season:

Still 5 weeks remains on the schedule so I'd certainly hope they'd finish the season. Might be a handful of games never played/never rescheduled, but maybe they play 50 games or so. When the Devils entire team was sidelined, they missed about 2 weeks.

In the US everyone is supposed to be vaccine eligible by the end of April. And everyone (athletes included) should be vaccinated by mid-summer, if the rollout of vaccinations continues at the current pace. Some individual states are way ahead of that pace and some are behind.

Kyle Palmieri won't play on Sunday against Washington because of precautionary reasons.

Trade imminent?

Doesn't necessarily mean a trade is coming, though. Just don't want him to get injured in case they do make a deal.

So, is it doubtful that Palms will play for the Devils again before the deadline?

I wouldn't be surprised if that were the case.

Pretty sure his agency confirmed it’s for trade reasons

Edit: I’m assuming this is them

Yeah, "In anticipation of a trade". They're currently trying to work out a deal and don't want him injured if something materializes.

Could this also count as quarantine? So don't get injured, hope you get traded plus "he's already in quarantine, so he can be in your lineup quicker"

What's the protocol for going to a Canadian market. Does it specifically have to be in Canada.

I think it's at least a 7 day quarantine that you have to do in Canada

I don't think so. I don't know what the rules are (if there are any) going from team to team in America, so maybe it would make a difference there. But as far as if he were traded to a Canadian team, I don't think it would make a difference. I'm pretty sure he has to do a 7 day quarantine after crossing the border before he can join his new team.

Stars coach Rick Bowness was pulled from tonight’s game due to covid protocols.

Bowness is full vaccinated. This makes zero sense.

false positive is what makes sense and likely what happened, but still, why are tests coming back in the middle of the game?

My bigger question is why they’re testing fully vaccinated individuals. I thought the vaccine was so you could love normally?

Vaccine doesn’t 100% guarantee you won’t catch it, it just really reduces your chances. Also, when almost everyone has one then you can live normally.
