Imo a tad too much. Bad an unnecessary hit, but I ain't sure on what ground they put the 7 game penalty on...is it only because it's Wilson? Kinda would've understood if it was two or three games...but seven makes me think it's because of the guy's past.

Well, they've had more coaches and GM's in the last 10 years than just about anyone. So I'm pretty sure nobody has a clue how to fix this mess. I just cant see the value in keeping Eichel if they have no chance of being a playoff team.

Well... yeah, it is because it's Wilson. He's a multiple repeat offender.

Based on this, I'm under the assumption they can't use that as a reason for the length of the penalty.

Repeat offender rule only applies to the salary/fines aspect of the punishment, to the best of my knowledge. All supplemental discipline history is taken into account when determining the suspension.

Alright then.

Well given it's almost 3 years from his latest suspension, imo it's a bit bs if they enforced that on this penalty.

The DoPS gotta show they care about player safety, but imo 7 games was good, he’s a repeat offender ( but not technically in the NHL eyes ), that was clearly an illegal hit

They play with no pressure. The only way they can go is up. And it's not like the 13-14 or 14-15 Sabres .. they still have some quality weapons. Chabot is a beast, Stutzle is great, Batherson and Norris are having very good rookie seasons and guys like Tkachuk are already established. If they had better goaltending and one more top 4 d-man they could be very very dangerous, I have spoken.

I’d say the problem was more that Montreal, Calgary and others occasionally sucked against or underestimated Ottawa but yes they are better than expected
