After the classic two shots of vodka I've come to conclusion that they will be making lots and lots of D-men for picks deals.

Or not. After this one, I can't expect nothing from Francis.

Because if we think back to our thoughts on Vegas after the expansion draft, I’d say this team is better on paper than the Golden Knights were before their first season.

Edit: Now obviously Vegas was in a better position for the future because they had 2 extra 1sts, but Seattle is looking better in the short term than Vegas was in the summer of 2017.


Not the team itself really but just the pure misses or lack of deals. Seattle had the opportunity to surpass Vegas by miles. In terms of future development and pairing it with a quality roster.

Instead they did nothing. No side deals is actually unacceptable imo if I even invested 10,000$ not to mention the actual near billion dollars spent

The Price omission isn’t a problem; it’s the lack of side deals and glaring misses. Bean is a massive hole that’s shows personal bias because the fact NINO and BEAN were “worse” than Geekie is just disgusting. Something is wrong mentally there. At least the Price decision had fair arguments ( star goalie but term and health issues and 10+ mil) for both sides. Leaving Bean and Nino are just… there’s no words.

You may think that's not a probelm - no problem; get it haha...
But I want to get my US$650M + + money back before I pass and CP moves the needle!
He gets merch flowing more than the other '30' by mile$$ and he can be flipped later, if it chokes, to a playoff sheep club needing assurance in goal for a run...

Oh I woulda picked Price personally - but it makes sense as to why to leave it. Look at this teammate Weber and the situation it may cause in Montreal.

This Expansion Draft is giving me flashbacks of the awfully long rebuild Francis put us through. Good luck Kraken, you're gonna need it.

This team is going to be a car crash that's just as bad as the Sabres and Sens. Say what you will about the Vegas expansion, at least McPhee had a clear vision and made clever side trades to get assets like Tuch and Theodore. NONE of these picks didn't come from side deals, meaning every last one of these players were of Francis' own pickings. And judging from what we've seen today with the overpayment of Oleksiak and picking up Larsson who might decline in his stint there, I wouldn't hold my breath on them making the correct decisions and signing the right players in the FA and trade windows.

This team, especially as it stands, will struggle mightily in the league. Even in a weak Pacific Division, they will do well to not finish at the bottom given the lack of offensive depth and the risk of using Driedger as a starter (who alarmingly reminds me of Scott Darling, an infamous Carolina signing by, you guessed it, Francis).

Yes - like the NHL draft take the 'best on the board.'
If you pick a 'MoFo' doesn't want to be a Starbuck - trade him to the KHL (drastic example useage only)
RF - take your ball-z out of the sack and pick a G-D-Team not the politically correct touchy-feely bunch of misfits/ECHL skaters

were on the same wave length basically (Id change a small few things and mainly I'd change, to true and trade tarasenko)

Plus Price and Driedger could do the Price and Allen duo so it makes all the more sense for a playoff push
