In the end Rielly basically did what Muzzin did 2 years ago. Took less than his market value to stay. Both are regarded as team leaders even though one wears an "A" more so than the other, and both contribute heavily to the leafs blue line. Only diff is hes here for an extra 4 years and has been with the team longer. But in the end both took discounts to stay

So if anything the team discount thing one could argue is all thanks to Spezza


Neither Bunting or Spezza are even close to the same caliber of player that Rielly is, and didn't leave nearly as much money on the table, so you can throw that out the window. Disagree that Muzzin could've gotten 7-8 on the open market. Probably more like an Ekholm deal. Even so, it's still not comparable. Muzzin was here like a year and hadn't gone through the sh*t that Rielly has. He wasn't as ingrained as part of the core as Rielly is. Him committing to stay is not the same.

Man though is it kind of lacking lul as other than those guys the remaining guys are 3rd paid Dman

Gio said he plans on playing next season for sure, and would like to play into his 40s. And he can probably do it tbh, he has less miles than most old guys (late bloomer, no real deep playoff runs, is aging very well so far).

No, that makes no sense, Aldrich is, until further proof, the only one whose name should be struck off, you could argue, Bowman, Q and the management group to be taken off too

I feel like you're going to be a copy of what my team was last year, if you remember, I was undefeated in the regular season, the best team by a mile and cruised to victory and I feel like you could be the person who does that this year

their only goalie with any sort of upside is ivan prosvetov, notably 4th on their depth chart. hutton is the worst goalie in the league, korenar is a #3 at best, vejmelka was mediocre in the czech league, and prosvetov is still young
