Libor Hajek is a terrible defensemen, not to mention he’s a left d, which we have a ton of in the pipeline and on the roster. No thanks

According to Frank Servalli Montreal really likes him and is perfectly fine keeping him for the long haul.

Apparently they think third-liners are worth high level prospects and picks.

Nobody says Montreal doesn't want him. They are only considering moving him because his value is high. He's a great player to have through a rebuild. Slots in anywhere, works hard, and shoulders a lot of responsibility until the prospects are ready for it.

Show me where in the quote he said Montreal covets Hejak!

"Keep an eye on the Rangers and the Habs between now and March 21.” He added, “I think Montreal covets some Rangers prospects. Habs could fill some Rangers’ needs. Montreal would rather add prospects over picks. Already have 12 picks for the July draft. Rangers’ pipeline drawing Habs interest.”

And here is the link to the article the quote came from

https://thehockeywriters.com/nhl-rumors-february-16-2022/

He literally says Montreal has interest in SOME Rangers prospects, one would assume those prospects are RHD, LW, or C prospects with top 4 or top 6 potential. Not some throw away ECHL player.

Ok so you've now gone from a credible source like LeBrun to a hack like Brooks. Why not just use Eklund rumours and say Montreal will trade Suzuki for Kevin Rooney while your at it! You credibility is going down the toilet as fast as your trade offer with this new Intel of Brooks being the source.

I think JT Miller is going to end up in Colorado. The Avs love Giroux, I get it, but in JT, they are getting a bit of term for trading off some asset capital they would have to give up anyway for a rental that is arguably less talented than JT Miller. Also consider that the Avs are likely losing Kadri at the season's end and JT does play some center.

Larry Brooks speculation? I'll need a hell of a lot more than a grain of salt. More like a salt flats worth of salt. Especially since Hajek isn't a prospect.

i can see him going to either team. nyr i think has the better assets to muster up in a trade however, so van will try to get nyr to take him

Have you checked in with the Avs prospects recently? It's ridiculous. Keep in mind that the Canucks have indicated they would prefer this retool/rebuild to be quick. I think if the Rangers are going to make this deal, they may need to throw in K'Andre Miller as the headline of their package, something I wouldn't personally be willing to do if I was the Rangers.

lundkvist can play in the league rn. he's not great defensively but he can be pp2 and he's a very solid offensive defenseman. he moves the puck rlly well. chytil has shown me enough flashes that i'm confident he'll be a solid nhl player for a good amt of time. maybe 2 more years to develop into a consistent player. gauthier is a bit of a project, w the right coaching development he can be a solid winger. rangers don't rlly have the tools he needs rn to get him there. same w chytil.
