Zucker's value to Montreal is essentially nil with their current direction. You can probably consider Kapanen and Lehkonen more or less equal in value.
That means Pittsburgh has to add whatever value is sufficient for Drouin. Doesn't matter if you think he's worth a 1st or a 5th, Pittsburgh still adds.

No, because they aren't dealing those players for roster players.

Montreal wouldnt be interested. Drouin is the best ppg player among the 4 this year and lehkonen is the best one defensively.

Zucker is a negative value asset by a fair bit and the habs have no use for kapanen

No they don't! Montreal doesn't need more RW's and both Drouin and Lehkonen are better anyway.

It sounds like Lehkonen is going to cost a 1st+ to get and Zucker has little to no value so PIT is definitely adding more.

You can argue all day about throwing a low pick one way are another but it's pretty even.

Drouin =Zucker (Same salary, same term, same slump, same heath issues)

Kapanen is under control for more years but isn't worth his next qualifying offer as a bottom 6. Lehkonen would be way more usefull for the playoffs but could go ufa in 2023.

Same slump? Drouins 82 game pace since the start of last year is 46 points and 51 this year. Zuckers is 37 and 34.

Drouin is not equal to Zucker for Montreal though. There's no reason for them to move one trade bait for another unless the one they are getting has more trade value. By declaring Zucker and Drouin equal, you remove any possible incentive for Montreal to consider making that exchange.

You delusional Habs fans crack me up 😂. Drouin and Lehkonen’s value to Pittsburgh is ZERO. No, realistic people don’t consider Kapanen equal to Lehkonen. Realistic people know Kapanen is miles better than Lehkonen. Lehkonen is an overpaid bottom 6 defensive forward who hasn’t been great defensively this season. You can blame it on the team all you want but it still lowers his value. Drouin and Zucker at worse the same. But I would be willing to bet that gm’s would value Zucker’s locker room presence over Drouin.

Ok, but they are asking in this scenario. And in this scenario, Montreal definitely adds.

No Zucker really doesn’t but you Habs fans are pretty delusional as usual 😂.

Pittsburgh doesn’t need any more LWs. And no they aren’t. Zucker at worse is = to Drouin and Kapanen is miles better than Lehkonen 😂 you Habs fans are too delusional. I knew this would get the Habs delusionals screeching 😂.

To who? Delusional habs fans? No way in hell does Lehkonen bring in a 1st +. He brings in a 3rd at best. He is an overpaid bottom 6 winger. And Zucker has value. I’d be willing to bet gm’s would prefer Zucker’s locker room presence over Drouin’s 😂.

An overpaid bottom 6 winger hahahahaha and even in a "who adds" scenario, Habs are still not adding.

"Kapanen is miles better than Lehkonen". It's totally right... if you have no clue who Lehkonen is.

No, NHL insiders are saying he'll probably get a 1st: https://www.yardbarker.com/nhl/articles/the_daily_faceoff_show_could_artturi_lehkonen_net_the_canadiens_a_first_round_pick/s1_16958_37143638

When you have a lot of teams wanting a player, it will cost a lot.

Quote:
He is an overpaid bottom 6 winger.

Lehkonen is a possession beast that's a top 9 talent, not just bottom 6. He's like Sheary for you guys when he rocked it with Crosby. He can probably get close to 50 points if he played with top end players.

Maybe? But Zucker couldn't cut it with one of the better teams in the league and has been hurt a handful of times.

I think it's pretty widely acknowledged that Lehkonen is in fact a top defensive bottom 6 forward, and I also think that's the first time I've heard somebody suggest he is overpaid.
The reason Zucker has zero value to Montreal, is because they aren't competing. It has nothing to do with his effectiveness or his locker room presence. If Zucker is a comb, Montreal is a bald man.

Maybe there is a dumb gm or 2. However just because there is interest doesn’t mean it’s going to necessarily be 1st round pick interest.
Lehkonen is a career sub 50% Corsi and sub 50% fenwick%. The past 4 years has been sub 50% in both. That hardly screams possession beast.
And Sheary is probably not the best comparison to use cause well, he only brought in a conditional 4th round pick after that success 😂. And Lehkonen hasn’t been even close to the same pace as Sheary was. And Sheary hasn’t been anything special since. So why would teams pay for that? Not all teams have a player like Crosby to stick him with.
What are you talking about Zucker couldn’t cut it with one of the better teams in the league? The guy was almost a ppg playing with Crosby and the pens have been a much better team with him on the ice than off it. Sure could he be better at finishing? Yeah, but he has also been playing through a core injury this season and finally got the surgery to fix it.

And you could say the same about Drouin and Lehkonen to Pittsburgh lol. And as I’ve said in the past, the only reason Montreal would trade for Zucker is if it’s part of a 3 way that they are shipping Zucker to a contender and retaining for a positive net value. But in this specific scenario giving value of players only. The value of the pens players > the value of the Habs players.

Wait people still use Corsi and Fenwick LOL Look at the charts above. He's one of the best possession players in the league.

Sheary got that return b/c PIT had no cap space if I remember correctly. A lot of teams have great players like Crosby that could he could help.

He has 31 points in his last 69 games the past 2 seasons. 43 points in 86 games overall with PIT the last 3 seasons. Which is fine, but nothing to write home about for a 31yo that's had two big injuries the last 2 seasons.

Equal value doesn't mean they are the same player.

MTL need Zucker's grit and Pens Drouin's playmaking abilities.

Montreal is the seller in this scenario. You have to assume the Penguins are the buyers. IF the Penguins were buying these players from Montreal, who adds?
I'm simply answering the question which was asked.

If you want to say that you see no reason for Pittsburgh to make that trade, that's a perfectly valid stance and an entirely different discussion.
Saying Montreal adds, is indeed answering the question posed, but under the wrong assumptions. Calling everyone delusional for addressing the actual topic is hardly an appropriate response.

Ppg stats on players who can barely play 50% of their team's games and are plagued with injuries are useless.

They are both playing under their ceiling of 4 years ago. That’s what I meant by same slump.

Montreal only needs young players with potential and picks. If they are giving up young players or picks (or players who could return such), it has to be for long term solutions. Zucker is neither. Lateral moves don't benefit them outside of maybe a RHD.

If we were contending or even looking to make the playoffs next year, sure we could use Zucker's grit but we aren't or shouldn't be. Zucker is a good player much the same as Gally but unless we move Hoffman or Armia we shouldn't look to be adding anymore wingers. Drouin we also need since we have very few forwards capable of gaining the blueline with control outside Drouin.

Most rational Pens fans want to dump Kapenen cause he is not very good defensively and is struggling offensively, as opposed to Lehkonen who is on pace to match his career high offensively and is still one of the best defensive forwards in the league.

Why we are arguing about a trade that makes no sense from Montreal's side anyway and according to YOU makes no sense for the Pens is ridiculous.
