Ya, pretty big overpay for copp. I think his absolute ceiling is a first.

Sean Reynolds (Sportsnet) made the point on his podcast that Darren Dreger (TSN) is the most plugged in journalist when it comes to the Jets front office. So if Dreger is saying that the Jets may be looking at their pending UFAs as own-rentals then someone in Jets management told him. While it would be frustrating to see the Jets not sell their pending UFAs -- especially with a sub 10% chance of making the playoffs -- I wouldn't be surprised anymore.

The Oilers need a RH shutdown dman. I'd do that trade for DeMelo way before trading for Stastny.

Sens don't do that Ottawa trade 1 for 1 let alone add picks.

Zboril is set to be playing in Europe in the next couple years and is a left shot defenseman; which is not what we need.

Demelo is the best partner for Morrissey since Trouba, so he shouldn't go at all.

Arizona would probably ask for more; and I'd rather lose Stanley, Schmidt, or Dillon over Heinola. And Gus should be a key defensive forward on the bottom six next year.

I like the Ottawa trade though. Can they take Wheels as well wink?

Copp = 2nd/mid level prospect.

After leaving with a concussion the other night he’s not an option anymore.

ya, OTT not trading a 22 YO 2nd year C who is going to hit 30+ goals this year, best friend of their captain for a 29 YO C who will most likely start to decline when Norris is in his prime.

I can't see the Jets waiting until 23 for a late pick, so the Jets likely look elsewhere.

The only valuable piece in the Boston trade is the 1st, but that may be enough.

Ottawa isn't at a point that they're a Scheifele away from being a playoff team, so they say no and the Jets would probably want another roster player coming back.

The Jets have zero need for LD, so the Arizona trade doesn't work.

Winnipeg has no reason to move DeMelo and there would need to be a far better player added to the pick in the St. Louis deal.

If they do this it is going to set the jets back quite a bit. We need to trade the UFAs to bring in picks, prospects, and young players. It is mind boggling that Chevy thinks this team can make the playoffs, and if they make it they are going to play one of Colorado or Calgary. One problem is that Copp is now injured with what looks like another concussion. I am hopeful that it is just going to be day to day, but you never know. If Copp is out longer then day to day, I don't think teams would give up a first or a 2nd and a prospect.

Heinola should be a trade chip, how many small dmen does this team need?

Very much agree, if they keep Stastny and Copp they're making a big mistake, this team isn't making the playoffs and those two should easily bring back two of the three picks lost in the Dillon and Schmidt trades.

A big part of this team's inconsistencies are due to just not being good enough, Idk how Chevy and Chipman don't see that!!

An overhaul is needed, I question if they even realize that though.

Maybe Chevy is going for the full 7 dwarf set.

Even if they pull off a miracle and get WC2, it will be painful.

This is exactly why I don't want them to make the playoffs. It would set the team back quite a bit.
