He shot up the rankings recently . Has 19 goals right now and is 6’3 and a great skater. Compared to a lot of the other guys in the top 10 who are smaller in size , he’s my Sens pick if they draft 7-9.

Ottawa values size . He’s a 6’3 power forward , great skater and a goal scorer. Has Ottawa written all over him

If someone wants a tall power forward, who can score, they'll go Slafkovksy, Geekie fits the bill too, they'd both go before Gauthier imo

I don’t like Geekie. Marco Kasper is another great top 20 pick. He’s 17 and has 11pts in 46 games in the SHL .

I’m not sure we are drafting high enough for him

Geekie is the only wrong pick in the top 10. He’s Logan Brown 2.0 or Cody Glass 2.0. Other than Yurov of course

Geekie's such an NHL GM pick though, he probably shouldn't go top 10 but I wouldn't be surprised if he did. Yurov's amazing and so well rounded but due to the fact he's Russian and that KHL teams don't care about developing young players might make him drop

And also their ability to sign in NHL the same way they have in the past is a complete question mark given the circumstances in there. Especially those under contract with KHL teams.

For example Michkov is signed until 2026. I wonder if we see him in NHL until then.

This makes me feel so old. Back when I started watching hockey he was one of the first center power forwards I can even remember, and he was only 25 at the time.

He's also the first NHL player I've ever seen score a goal live (back when Anaheim was playing a game in Finland).

It's kinda sad to me, really.

Great career, ANA getting Ryan and Corey in 2003 set them up for a really nice run there

He was one of the last guys from when I started watching hockey in 2006. Only a few remain - Keith, Fleury, Kopitar, Ovechkin, Crosby, Malkin etc.

It's been an honour, El Capitan!

Sad to see him leave (I know I'm gonna have tears in my eyes again, just like after Teemu's last game), but all the best to him and his family! See you next time aka at the retirement of #15 (and hopefully also #10).

Not a bad transition tho, Ryan to Trevor

Seeing that Getzlaf is retiring, hair’s an image looking back on his career:

Probably, probably not.

He's the face of the Anaheim franchise, has played there for his whole career and won the cup with them in 2007. But he never received any personal awards, aside from couple of all-star game invitations.

He's a franchise legend, but I dunno if he warrants a HHOF title.
