Floridas goaltending for the playoffs is quite…. scary imo. And not in a good way.

2 games 2 pulls for Bob

Still cant take this team lightly as they have a knack for comebacks.

And they went all in this year.

Like if I was Zito I would have traded for Kahkonen or a more experienced backup

what do yall think about the idea of the NHL going to a soft salary cap instead of the hard cap they have already?

Its risky. Certain teams could have more of an advantage with it vs. others.

Like it can work but to me once the cap starts going up again then teams should be fine

1mill is gonna be the start and who knows next season could go up 2.5mill

i think what im more looking at if the nhl went to like an NBA-style cap system, where there was is a salary limit and if you wanted to exceed that limit you can to an extent, but theres a monetary fine that comes with exceeding it. Im just wondering because in the NHL trades and stuff i feel like are less based on the players and more based on the salary of those players so I was just thinking about ways to make trades more about the players themselves and what they can do, compared what they can do relative to their salary $. Just curious to see what everyone elses thoughts on it were

Soft cap makes no sense for the NHL, would make league parity even worse

Im not a fan of soft cap but I am a fan of raising the cap 2 mill every single year so that a longterm contract say 8 years , can look like a steal in year 3 cuz of the cap. Also what are your thoughts on making longterm contracts a max of 6 years

thats kind of the conclusion I came to as well, maybe if the league grows enough and the smaller clubs (ottawa) grow it could make sense, but the top teams are too far from the bottom ones revenue wise right now tho for it to work imo
